Hey all, have grabbed a cheapish deal for accomm right at Perisher in 2 weeks. Is anything/anywhere recommended for a reasonable dinner by those in the know? Thanks...

You could try the White Spider at the Eiger Hotel. Apparently The Man from Snowy River is good.

Is it just me, or is Aldos a) more expensive than it used to be, and b) using much cheaper ingredients than the old owners? We have definitely had some ordinary meals there this year. Food still frozen in the middle, stuff just plain missing from the plate even though its on the menu? Its still not awful, but definitely not as good as the old owners.

I used to never think twice about eating there, now I will happily walk past to the Man from or go High Ground

Look Red Rooster is my benchmark food, so I'm probs not very reliable as a food critic :)

and yes I did find ARIA in Syd up to Red Roosters standard!!

I personally like Jax in the Perisher Centre. Choose your bit of meat, cook it yourself, get roast veggies and unlimited salads. Not sure if they do it every night or just night skiing. It does get a bit busy in there though.

Did you stay at the Eiger when you were up there? So my recommendation of the White Spider was a bit redundant? LOL

I think Jax has the same menu at lunch
I get a salad plate there, actual fresh ingredients - helps to maintain a healthy diet

It wasn't a full review, just a suggestion.

That was just off the top of my head, I thought it was you who earlier asked for recommendations for dinner?

And compared to other offerings at Perisher, it's relatively good value.

Give that Eddie a damned good clip behind the ear. He should know better than playing in the space-time continuum.
