    Ha ha! Sure is!
I clocked it on the way to Noboribetsu and added it to the list -the let’s take a drive and get a few turns somewhere different list. Certainly not a “resort” but I’ve had some fun runs at little single lift hills.

Up there with the best morning’s resort skiing I’ve ever done. Lots of boot deep powder runs amongst the trees.

My first timer brother used that (on recommendation of a powder hound mate) and I’ve just literally downloaded it yesterday to try out. Never used anything like it before, but can’t have him clocking a faster speed than me :eek:LOL

If it’s Niseko go to Annupuri and ski the gates, maybe give Moiwa a look. I quite enjoy the terrain both skiers right of Moiwa (just beware if you hit the river you’ve got a decent hike ahead of you to get back) and between Moiwa and Annupuri.

We also visited the Makkari Onsen in the afternoon. The car park was full, though most people were there playing table tennis and a small version of curling.

Try Boot Solutions (in my street)

    http://www.bootsolutionsjapan.com/niseko-hirafu

There is a phone number there - plenty of English speaking staff. If they don’t have any they should be able to point you to someone who has. I think Ruary is working there again this year - he put a lot of hours into sorting my boots out for me last year - good bloke.

Rhythm is directly across the road and there are plenty of other stores in town. Someone should be able to help.

    Awesome.
Glad I could help you find them, and glad I could throw a recommendation out there for Boot Solutions. They’ve always done right by me and those I’ve sent there

    Niseko - 4 Resorts 1 Day

Today we headed out to Niseko to see what all the fuss about this hill was about.

After a quick pit stop at Boot Solutions to pick up a pair of booties for MikeFromWork to reduce the commentary about having cold feet we went and skied the hill.

An all mountain walk up adult day pass will set you back 7200 yen (~ $92 AUD), however with the Tomaru season pass this dropped down to 3600 yen (~$46 AUD) :)

Our only goal today was to ski all 4 resorts (Annupuri, Niseko Village, Grand Hirafu and Hanazono) in 1 day which we achieved fairly quickly

It’s funny how they have the resort boundaries set up. Lots and lots of messages about not ducking ropes and warnings about your pass being pulled should you do so.

The lifting infrastructure was pretty good and the queues moved along quite quickly.

    A most enjoyable day indeed.

I wouldn’t mind going back at some stage and checking out the terrain through the BC gates. Some of the terrain looked very tasty indeed.

I should get back in around 2 weeks time. So far this trip there's been 18 ski days and we've skied most of the places I wanted to. Thus far:
    • Tomaru
    • Furano Kitanomine
    • Kamui
    • Tokachidake
    • Pippu
    • Kokusai
    • Teine
    • Asari
    • Kiroro
    • Rusutsu
    • Orofure
    • Niseko (Annupuri, Niseko Village, Grand Hirafu and Hanazono)
In an ideal world I'd love to finish off with some cat skiing and some BC action at Asahidake, but when skiing with others you need to modify your plans accordingly. In no way am I complaining about the skiing I've done here, not at all, but you do get spoilt here with the quality of the snow and choice of skiing locations.

I suspect we'll end up back near Furano / Tomaru and take it day by day based on the prevailing conditions. Having a Tomaru season pass is a very nice fallback option too :)

Very cruisy day at Mount Racey

Unfortunately the gondola wasn’t running due to the wind, so we had to ski the wind blown off the side of the chairs. Kinda like September back home.

Of course as soon as I say that they start the gondola up :)

The Temporo Soba Noodle was also really, really good.

Thoughts on the resort as a whole? I've marked it as a potential day tripper from Sapporo, but at 1.2 hours driving looks like Teine and Kokusai might be better options

It would be a great little resort to hit up first out the gates to work the kinks out of the legs. The terrain is pretty mellow.

Teine and Kokusai would be better if you want to charge hard off the bat, IMO.

Seem to be in a bit of a lull here snowfall wise until next week. Spent last night at a Spa and Restaurant.

Today’s plan is to drive down to tomakomai and do some sight seeing.
