Yes it looks like the rain is heading out to sea around Sydney, just light showers atm here, total for the event here so far is 50mm, enough to keep the weeds thriving unfortunately :)

Wow. It's as dark as here with the heaviest rain of the day so far atm, although radar suggests it will ease very soon.
Not sure the T20 girls will get on the pitch tonight. After this clearing trend is another smaller band of rain stretching from Scone to Wellington that could be the killer for the game. Time will tell.

WTF is going on at the moment? Its still raining nicely in the lowlands. Cloud moving SE toward Orange and Bathurst yet both AWS say it hasn't rained up there for hours. Starting to annoy me. We've had plenty down here. I'd rather put some in the dam up high for ron.

And as i write that i realise Mudgee area is going nicely in the last couple of hours. That will put some water in the dam via Cudgegong River - which flowed strongly a couple of weeks back so should be good to transmit. .

Another 27mm today in addition to the 46mm yesterday in my rain gauge (Tuggeranong ACT). That makes .... ummm ..

My fish pond is overflowing. Fish seem to be coping :)

I have not tipped out the nylex 250 since it began earlier this week, the centre tube thankfully finally overflowed, was nowhere near it this morning.

A rough look through the side leaves me thinking say 40mm so far (I hope). Still bugger all runoff so the streams need a lot more sadly.

However, loved every drop of this old fashioned RAIN

Raining steadily Belrose. Stopped earlier but kicked off again. Some nice localised flooding on Forestway too which is a sign of a decent fall around these parts.

Long range EC chart has another low making its way down the east coast of QLD before dumping rain into the Darling Downs. Its relentless in QLD at the moment.

Jack sh!t basically so far in Cairns this wet season. Still on level two water restrictions. A couple of half decent overnight thunderstorms does not constitute a wet season.

Not directed at you personally as I think I heard a similar quote on the news but I think it's a silly stat. What is it based on - the long run average annual rainfall divided by calendar days, seasonal averages, or something else? The climate is ever changing and in my 9 year ACT experience rainfall is sporadic at best.

My gauge for the event 45mm, nice indeed but the catchment needed much more. Minimal runoff, we will remain in level 4 restrictions with no outlook of that improving sadly.

Mudgee area (CUdgegong) appears to be contributing reasonable inflows to Burrendong. Not very big, but big relative the the amount of stored water. Think Burrendong will go up a couple of percent but inflow is big for town water needs. Bugger all coming from your area - possibly a bit coming down the Turon. Gauge in Bathurst hardly moved so far. Bell also not doing anything, which is surprising as it doesn't normally need much to make a run.

Talbragar looks to have more solid flows, but all below the dam unfortunately. Castlereagh also making anther run.

No idea how much rain fell in Jindy North Shore but it was all welcome and it's as green as Tilba in wet season.

Still a little drizzle in the air.

Rough calculation of average annual rainfall divided by calender days. I was making a point that it was a lot of rain in a short period of time regardless of how you calculate the figures.

Event totals around Sydney (March total rain to 9:00):

    Sydney OH: 61mm
    Chatswood: 57
    Belrose (N Beaches): 61
    Parramatta: 46
    Penrith: 37

    <Begin whinge>
    1. Thick, impenetrable cloud streams from NW for 3 days --> Fog --> brief sunshine --> different cloud from South --> several days of SE'ers.
We can't even squeeze a warm sunny day in between. And we just had another briief shower. Go away.
    2. Access on WZ hasn't been updated since Wednesday evening.

Yes once again the catchment around here has not done as well as other locations. A farmer out Black Springs way had 44 mm only for the whole event and he’s not far from the Campbell’s.

There were quite a few happily grazing on the intermittently soaked area left of pic on the North end. From my weekly obs i would say about 1 third of original stock numbers remaining.
