not so early that you are likely to be the first to find any rock falls or trees down :)

    When to go up...
Early, as there's less chance of being stymied by buses or trucks that get stuck.

    Nothing like that depth elsewhere.
    Pretty heavy.
Vis was low when untracked and better when half-tracked but the knees took a pounding. Surface was fast and a bit rough when packed down. I found one patch that I had to myself that was sweet and just lapped it for an hour.

All lifts going on hold due to lightning approaching. Take care if you're off the beaten track.

Sounds like I came down at the right time then....I concur with Ziggy, fresh snow was heavy and got packed down fast but skied pretty well despite the bumps. Coming back to windy corner down wombats could best be described as glazed. Tele'd til I was jelly so a good day!

Yeah not half as good as the offical Falls Creek Facebook photographs would have you beleive. Still a great morning but the poor vis did force you to stick to the trees. Last hoot was a mess when I went down about 11:30 but the other side had some lovely stashes.
Car in front of me on the way up just drove stright into the pile of cleared snow on a bend just passed orbit corner....he ended up hanging over the other side, not sure what went on as he was going nice and slow and in a 4X4 patrol. I notified staff at the top and they sent someone down to pull him out, otherwise the drive up and down was fine.

Uploaded a clip from the mornings conditions

    I have a non-skier partner.
The day's summary for her would be 'drove up the mountain, skied around in circles, drove down the mountain.' ;)

Definitely needed them chains on the way down this afternoon. Seemed to be snowing heaviest way down past howmans and accumulating more than up top due to the blizzards up high.

Darkside, shadow, Corkscrew and sundown were amazing today but the ride back up scotts was painful. Still waiting for the brain to defrost.
Cant believe how much snow we have received since yesterday and it didn't let up all day.

Yup. The groomers made champions of us. I scored three and a half PBs today.

There was an enchanting moment in the morning when the sun made the cloud glow from within while snow flakes wandered on the breeze.

It was great to ski with @almontyrat who also gave me a lesson in fitting snow chains :)

And to make the acquaintance of an articulate and charming young person who turned out to be @Boodwah's offspring.

And to chat and do a slide with @rowdyflat.

Awesome day for my last slide for the season. As noted above, the groomers at 8:10 am were sensational, first tracks down beautiful corduroy on Highway83, so good we did a rinse and repeat then a few laps of mainstreet also superb.

I followed @Ziggy over to lakeside and did a few laps there in some small drifts that had corduroy peeking through in spots, glad my tele legs were up to the challenge. Then it was back to drovers and highway 83 for multiple laps of drills to try and get some good muscle memory for next year. If you saw a random telemarker doing shuffle turns, monomarks and tapping the front foot etc that was me!

Bye Falls, thanks for the great two weeks and see ya next year!

Good day, stayed nice and cold vis variable but OK overall . Good cover now.
Felt like Northern hemisphere conditions plenty of dry snow falling with light winds , it got a bit cruddy after lunch .
Met the famous Ziggy at last. Glimpsed almontyrat who is actually a doe.

    Not confined to FC either.

Perisher, Thredbo and the ski tube carpark are all at capacity and closed.
