We did eat at Summit Ridge this year and the food was great, can highly recommend the duck, will definitely go back next year!

I liked my Nelse meal but the +1 was not over impressed. Nothing wrong just a bit bland

The Smokehouse was excellent as always

Brickbats to the snowboarder having a smoke at the top of the summit chair late this morning and flicking his butt into the bushes as headed off down the hill

    Bouquet Cloud 9 pizza.

Never thought I'd bouquet Cloud 9!

But it's quiet up here, no problem getting a table at close to midday (upstairs), reasonably fast service and an ok pizza ($20-$25 for a large).

Indeed. It was our easy go to lunch for 2 days.

Share a great pizza and a few glasses of red

    Also bouquet to Frying Pan

Great lunch there too on a sunny day

Was half price selected mains on a Wednesday too I believe

Brickbat. "Advanced" skiers pushing in front of kids and ski schoolers at the beginner terrain park.

Yes, you can easily slip in and safely slip in a jump or two on the way to the larger medium park at Drovers, but it's rude, sends a really bad message and sets a horrible example for those learning how to park ski.

How do you get a ski patroller to sit there and pull over a few (they weren't listening to the instructors yelling at them)?

sadly, ski patrol would not believe it was their job. one of the side effects of patrol not being employed by the lift co

Thanks @currawong sounds like a well worn gripe without a simple fix, but out of interest who employs the park maintenance crew; they were out a fair bit today rebuilding the park as the day wore on.

Can they pull a lift pass or they are similar to the instructors and can yell and shout but be ignored?

Bouquet to Frying Pan - nice lunch yesterday. And also to Cloud 9 - went there for the pizza at lunch today on @Tom from Melbourne ’s recommendation.

park maintenance are lift co employees.

they probably could theoretically pull passes. its a long time since i've heard of passes being pulled at falls. it would be for really unsafe behaviour or fraud (eg ticket sharing). No one really polices general safety and etiquette.

I've been threatened by a lift co employee when I was about to cross the ski area boundary but that was ridiculous. you are allowed to ski outside the ski area, you just need to understand that it is not patrolled

I wouldn't rave about the cloud 9 pizza, but it is certainly acceptable and good value for a ski lunch.

Last day of the season today (in October!). Huge bouquet to the snowmakers for keeping the season going until it actually snowed properly and also to the groomers that provided a lot of skiable terrain and also let me ski back to the Bowl today. Unbelievable job!

We didn't get up to Falls this year as we went to NZ for a ski and general holiday. One difference that stood out was interaction with the lift staff (Coronet Peak and The Remarkables). In recent years the Falls lifties have obviously being trained to greet and talk to everyone. I assume this would have continued this season.

In NZ we kept turning to face the lifties as we were getting on the chair as we were so accustomed at Falls that we would get spoken to. It's not that they were unfriendly as if you said something they would reply, it was just not something they were expected to do.

So a bouquet for the staff and staff training at Falls Creek, it make a difference to the vibe of a resort. Looking forward to getting back to ski-in and out at Falls in 2020.
