I was surprised. He only recently got a contract extension. However other people tell me that he was known to be looking for other positions.

I wonder if they want a CEO from the disability industry with many years of skiing knowledge including running a FC web site for 15 years and owning 3 properties up there for a while.

Would be a nice career change

I hear Ted Weeks sold Mountain Multiservice. Not many of the old guard left in Falls Creek now.

I understand a guy from the lift co has bought it (part of a couple it would appear), my understanding is Ted will continue to sell real estate on the mountain

A lot of good and a LOT of ski holiday booking experience has bought the business. Can understand Phantom sticking with the real estate sales as neither of the new owners fit that bill IMO.

we still get quite a lot of Queenslanders but not many WA skiers

I knew there was a bit of a campaign to get flights into Albury but hadn't heard that it was happening. Fingers crossed

There will be two flights ex-Adelaide to Wangaratta this winter coordinated by the Hothambus + FallsBus operator

More flights into Albury and new flights into Wang sound interesting. I guess the Wang flights will be package deals out of Adelaide.

Couple of days back a baby was delivered in the Medical Centre. Short labour and a bit prem, caught everyone out. Said to be the first delivery there and a lucky one with a birthing kit recently acquired and a GP on duty who'd done some postgrad obstetrics training.

I remember a couple of years back that I was only charged half entry price as I was driving solo. I didn't ask, they just offered. would this still be current practice does anyone know?

I was looking at lift tickets earlier in the week and there was an option for a Mid Week Madness (Tues-Thurs) in August and September. Clicking on this option gave and error and the option has now disappeared. Does anyone know if this something that will be released and had accidentally been added to the website?

Recently I had trouble reaching a caravan park to say I was running late - turned out to be Telstra issues at their end. I was able to contact them by email. Have you tried email? Just a thought

Yeah filled in their online form about Monday... crickets

    FYI got onto them eventually.
for anyone staying at the coach house inn... The 1800 number is dead and the advertised reception hours are a bit hopeful

Just heard that Lyn Gibbs from the Lift Company died today, she must have been in her mid to late 60s.

Lyn was a constant at the Lift Co, working through it's different ownerships. Not sure how many years she has worked in Falls Creek, but she was there when I first started skiing there in 1985.

This is very sad news for me.

Lyn was instrumental to the existence of this site.

An unwavering supporter of our snow cams and ski.com.au for the eighteen years we supplied services to Falls Creek and Hotham. As GM, Lyn personally looked after myself and Ian for the many many years of our snow cam service trips and was always available when we needed to work with other departments ensuring top-level support.

    That is very sad news

She was a fantastic supporter of falls and as Richard said very active on the forums in the early days

Had many a lively discussion with her and ASB regarding FC in those times

Apresski your comment is appropriate. Lyn fought valiantly and I believe she is now amongst so many Falls Creek identities we have had the pleasure to meet and work alongside.

It would be really nice for the Management crew to do something for Gibbo, as they did for Lorna Dunkley, also a beautiful lady, always remembered.

what would you suggest as the best value option for a 2 week trip to falls ?

    e.g. get 2 of these and a 2 day ticket ?

based on 2016 prices, a season ticket for an adult is too much for 14 days...

No right answer, or at least not now. Hero pass for $750 is the best but you had to do it last October. Chances are that you won't want to ski every day. 2 x 6 day any day may be the best. See if you want the extra days too but chances are that you won't. You may even miss a other day or 2

Not convinced that you would be able to load (buy) more than one of these passes per snowpass (e card). Maybe you can.

Not surprised, it's been pretty cold in the valley this afternoon.

A friend espouses the theory that we are given an allocation of snow for the year and any that falls outside of ski season is wasted. It's taken off the allocation without actually contributing to the ski base. ;)

This rain might slow down the hazard reduction burning off programme. I know we need it, but we are already sick of the smoke.
