What happened to Buller?
Falls has also mentioned limited passes. I wonder how true this is.
You might regret that decision....
Falls is flat
The road in and out is terrible no one pulls over to let faster vehicle pass
signs to fit chains to AWD advisable
Eagle chair doesn't run correctly
Carpark gets full by 8:30am on a weekend
express chair is now known as Halleys comet again
Ski in and ski out is horrible to walk on
Runs are short
Coffee is horrible
Have left anything off?
Do you at least like the resort name? (;-)
Oversnow is a ripoff and I'm carting all my gear up the hill and how many stairs are there?
Buller is not always better.......
Plus can always ski Hotham on this pass....
BTW Did any Hero go and get schmoozed on Sat at drinkies in Cloud 9?
They waste too much money on xc
They don't spend enough money on xc
It's a rip off
Seniors discounts aren't the same as they used to be
I'm sure there are more perenial whinges
- Can’t ride on a chair lift right to the top without it stopping at least once
- People don’t know how to get into fours
Hotham. ....well where do I start
Convoy in inclement weather
Carpark next to General
Chains fitted in Harrietville
Heavenly Valley chair
Heavenly Valley chair
Heavenly Valley chair
Coffee is horrible
No apple pie like kofflers
Don’t get me started on that. That whole village bus idea is just
Buses too infrequent
Bus racks not big enough
No bus to Loch carpark
Bring back the zoo train
Lifties are more interested in how many beers they sunk at The Genny the night before
Did I mention the bus?
And don't forget slalom gully
It's not too late to cancel @skiflat
Free up some weekday time...you may need to find a good psychologist.
Or the sardine can....I think they refer to them over at Hotham as a Bus
Did I mention anything about the ski schools that congregate at the off ramps on every lift at Falls?
International poma is always on wind hold.
And why is the Maze not groomed?
And why aren’t there people at the bottom of the runs handing out champagne and hot chocolate?
And why do they allow snowboarders on the mountain?
And what is this helmet fetish?
Talk is .....Mt Mckay is going to get a 6 seater detachable
And there will be a gondola from gully to bowl
And snowmaking in November.
And people in the car park that put your boots on for you and then carry your equipment to the lifts
And imported Japanese lifties to brush the snow off the chairs
And in this morning's email notice:
There are a limited number of passes available at this discounted rate so be sure to secure yours today to beat the price rise.
Bought mine on the first email so I am locked in at the normal price.....
Same. Didn’t want to risk it. We will see.
If it was Buller, you’d need a proctologist to remove the rusty fork.
Lift on Mckay?
Hilarious!! Good one! (/;-0)
That fork has been in there for many years
Not on my agenda anytime soon
I remember sitting in a bar many years ago with who is now ex FC mtn manager (or what ever they were called in ARC times) actually all the various resort managers and senior staff were there, any after many drinks had been consumed and FC Mgr declared loudly "blah blah blah well at Mt Falls Creek we do blah etc etc" ..... well didnt everyone get into him "Mt Falls Creek....that not a F$%*ing mtn.." was brunt of jokes for the rest of the night .....ahh good times
Well, we have a summit that's called, er, Summit.
Lucky you get that cheap Hotham accomodation, otherwise you would have found yourself buying the Buller season pass with the free spring skiing and a cutlery set.
Remember this spray that I copped from @skiflat ......
Still defending Falls I see
Oh since it's fine by you, it must be fine for everyone....
Falls visitor numbers say it all. Worst growth of any resort in VIC in a good season
Would think they would try to attract NEW visitors
I think their is a saying about arguing with an ...."
Affirmed everything I was saying by buying a 2018 Spring Pass and 2019 Hero Pass.... who was arguing with an ...... ??

Yes and No
Falls visitor numbers still point a bad picture in a great season
Pathetic oversnow. I am prepared
If it was a Falls only pass I wouldn't get it.
Not sure what I have affirmed
2019 will be 6 days at Falls and 10 plus at Hotham.
Nah Buller pass would be last on the list still.
I'd get a Thredbo pass well before Buller and even a Perisher pass too...
Ironically, if the McKay Plan had have come to fruition, Falls would have some of the steepest inbound skiing in OZ, and perhaps not deserve (if not totally shake of the moniker) the crown, 'Flat Creek' .
Yeah, and for losing skiers into the bush.
Yes that is very true. Although the reality is that we all have a bit of fun when it comes to "Who's Swartz is bigger", but in truth all the Vic resorts have great, good, and bad points! Yet on their day, any particular resort may offer "best day ever" and often depends on who you are skiing with. Which when I think back on best days, its not resort specific, its about the friends I was with on the day.
True. And it keeps McKay 'pristine' for those who earn their turns! (;-)
That is a mystery
If access to Falls & Hotham are so difficult, why do cars go off the road to Thread-bare?
Its NSW! QED! (;-)
Normally when driving to Falls , we stay at Mum's in Bright.
Staying on the hill soon, so stopping in Bright is not required, what's the difference if I go via Bright or the C534/C531 route?
Leaving Melbourne around 6pm Friday night.
In all our visits , never been via C534/C531
Maps shows only 9 minute difference....
Less traffic via C534/C531 ? Road conditions?
You mean the Rosewhite Rd?
Quicker. Less traffic, less tight winding sections (cp Tawonga Gap Rd), good bitumen.
Quicker, easier to go the rosewhite route. As @Ziggy said, less twisty, faster, less traffic. Also less dickheads on wrong side of the road.
Tawonga gap route is for motorbike or scenic variation or when you have to go to Bright.
Tunnel gap route is for heavy trailer, foggy night, car sick passengers or scenic variation. It's narrower and a little slower but only a couple of tight turns - and tends to be less foggy.
Another vote for Rosewhite. Make sure you’ve got your supplies though. I think Bright shops/petrol stay open later.
But yes - a hood road for lottlies in back & car sick prone peeps. (;-)
