Now do I or don’t I? Vail hasn’t covered itself in glory, but the pass is still good value if the lifts turn.
Essentially same price as last year if one considers that the insurance which was previously optional and extra is now baked into the 2021 price....
Yeah I can't fault Vail for refunding me early on without any rubbish about waiting the season out. I'll put $49 down.. but not for a month or two
Reduction in lesson discount (looks like it's gone from 25% to 20%) EDIT: Confusingly in FAQ it says 25% discount on lessons, but in the main internet page it says 20% EDIT AGAIN: But on the mobile it says 25%. I'm guessing it's 25%.
Seems the price rises on 29th September.... may as well chuck the $49 down then The 5 year old keeps asking when she can ski again....as she wants to ski faster than mum and dad.....
I totally agree. If ever there was a year to have a global pandemic and not ski at Falls/ BHP 2020 is it. Look at the snow cam. at the Rover Chalet. Not good!! :-0 https://bogongwebcam.gunther.com.au/
That is a big IF. I don' trust Vail. I don't use lifts but I love the FC/ BHP area for XC /BC XC skiing and want people to have fun up there and go home happy.
I was expecting to travel OS next year, but will put that on hold till 2022, so will be skiing locally, and that means Epic in terms of pricing and value. Doesn’t mean I have fallen in love with Vail or buried the hatchet, or actually expect it to work out - I’m taking the best punt on offer at the odds available to me, but don’t consider it a winning hand.
My love of skiing and my fondness for Falls by far outweighs any negative feelings or animosity I have towards any corporation!
Steve Lee is apparently on his way to Wangaratta hospital for follow up and rehab. I am tempted to tempt fate on a lift pass myself but I'd need to buy new boots because.
Would really like to upgrade but money is very very tight, a pair of S/H FullTilts in 30 would be about right tho
There's always next year, which when you think about it is almost this year, after all XMas is only a few months away and all the shops have decorations and fairy lights already.
And then the supermarket is selling easter eggs and cute chocolate bunnies in February and we are almost there.
Yes, I'm dreaming already. 6hrs to FC for me, 11 hrs to Tokyo Narita (includes drive to airport). Another 3-4 on the bus and we're in the mountains. For about the same price as a week's accomm at FC. Was hoping for late season NZ but not likely now.
Great news moondog, thanks for the update. Hope all goes well for him. Is that a shoe tree? Was it grafted or did you bury your old boots?
Been doing that already. Slow start to the season and the wind lately has been terrible for fly fishing. This is all making us concentrate on getting all those other jobs out of the way and probably a good thing.
