some of us thought a brewery sesh on Saturday arvo were in order, to say farewell to winter 2019. Anyone around in Jindy is welcome. Where: Jindy Brewery When: Saturday 12 Oct Time: 4pm? Open to discussion Who is around this weekend? @SMSkier @robbo mcs @skifree @dawooduck @Normo @Ozgirl are the locals who spring to mind. Blowins?
Oh my goodness what a lovely idea, I would so love to come. Unfortunately I won't be in Jindy, as I will have returned to the land of having-to-work-to-pay-for-my-family's-skiing-trips. I hope you all have a wonderful time!!!
I made the mistake of telling my physio I went for a ski on Sunday. The skiing part she was OK with, but when I said the outside part of my knee hurt at the start her smile widened and she then proceeded to dig her elbows into something called an ITB. If I come up, I'll want to ski and something will hurt. Do we really need to give her more ammunition to inflict more pain and suffering on me ?
Possibly not. But all the smiles you’ll see over frosty glasses of made with love beer will make up for me thinking about your pain.
I ***may*** blow in Saturday for a quiet ale. Can't drink too much as going for a walk with skis on Sunday. What time are you guys starting ? Still 4pm ?
You’re too kind! I wish, I have to drive to Melbourne on Monday (to pick up my wedding dress yay) so need to be sensible and wash/pack on Sunday! But I should have my designated driver with me on Saturday if I ask very nicely, so that’s good
Haha, mine just keeps swapping out the exercises I can do with ones I struggle to do. Up to 5 x 20 sec reps of hopping on my still healing knee. Brutal !
I have it on good authority Carpet #3 will be operational on the Saturday not sure about the last day of the season.
opps, forgot I have a wedding to attend on Saturday. Otherwise I would have been keen to meet some more forumites.
Such a boy thing to do! I swear in this case it's because you wear the one same suit that you wear to all these events!
If I can find my booties, don't want cold wet feet on the crossing I wonder if we can convince @chicski to come along to show us how XC is done ?
I need gentle slopes and IIRC that’s a steep incline either side of the river. I was wondering if a xc walk/ski along the road towards Kosi would be an option though.
It’s all gentle except a few vertical metres to get onto Lee saddle, and I’m guessing I’ll be smashing a skin track shelf on this for you anyhow. The shoulder of Lee is a gentle down.
Old sandshoes for the crossing only, leave em at the river and back on to recross home. And leave dry pair of shoes & socks & hand towel in plastic bag on the CP side to dry off & have a comfy wander up the gentle rise to the car park. It’s all in the planning.
Just use step turns, christies or parallel on the downs. Traverse the slope, rather than how you approach it on your alpine gear. Or hire some AT and give that a go, you would love it I reckon.
