50-100mm in a week and then warmer temps wont get grasses growing?
I guess so.
A lot will have been in full summer shutdown mode, so will be a new cycle.
ironic to have fire danger awareness week this week as its been pissing down in the NE ..minor flooding....
so two week period of built in safety...
yeah up at my block all the grass has gone to seed early, less leaf than last year
still gotta slash it tho
I recall you might have done some native grass seeding?
unsuccessfully at this point plowking
appears temps ramping up in NE...Wangaratta expecting 37degC this Thursday warm to hot and mostly dry in the next week...looks like summer heat is on the way...
lots of NE is very green but this may change over next couple weeks....

Some dangerous fires in SA at present around Mallala and Lameroo.
Firebombing C-130 Hercules is about to head West from Albury to help out.
Thor/C130/Bomber 132 is over the border already from Albury.
Southern Belle/DC-10/Bomber 910 is en route from Richmond, just north of Wagga currently.
Believe they'll be running out of RAAF Edinburgh as happened with the Vic based aircraft last year.
Nasty fire weather conditions in Vic today as well, but so far nothing serious has popped up.
2 confirmed dead.
beecroft weapons range... will be interesting for Currarong when the southerly hits.
Seriously? The army letting of explosives again on a day of high fire danger? This happened a couple of years ago.
don't think so, it's along a walking track to a fishing/climbing area
Jervis Bay in the background

the good news is no loss of life. we go to wye every year and there are houses in deep deep forest with deep deep litter. it was gunna happen at some point. special place but profoundly at risk
Spent a week in Wye River couple years back....remember looking at the houses up on that north east hill thinking.....f..k they are screwed in a fire....some of the tallest and thickest eucalypts i've ever seen up there......and many very beautiful very expensive houses and holiday homes....sad.
Going for a drive today to see how close the Barnawartha fire got to us.....was a scary time to come home last weekend with the wind expected to swing around to that direction with the change.....
Yep, that's where our place 'was'. Gone now
We lost the place my Grandparents built, still in shock
