Advice needed First Time Japan Snow Trip (Nozawa Onsen and Hakuba Valley)

Something else I've just remembered that I never got around to booking is travel insurance...

I know I have some coverage from AMEX as I've purchase almost everything using that, but I think it may be worthwhile getting some additional coverage considering how long I'll be on the mountain for.

Does anyone have a recommendation for decent travel insurance that covers snowboarding?

There is a couple of other threads about that if you do a search. Depends a lot on your intentions for on/off piste and backcountry etc. Look at aami and 1cover.

Sightseeing first. If you break a leg skiing you're f*cked. That way you at least get the sightseeing and some skiing in if you get injured. School holiday period (Japan AND Aus) makes for a busy time in Hakuba etc but you're clear of those now. CNY can be busy but a lot of CHN head to family or get to JPN for a ski and shopping then head back for CNY.
