Wow! Haaser with bib 33 goes into 4th! His best ever result.
Still some competitive results possible. Normally top 10 is pretty much set after first 30, but not today. Course holding very well, maybe getting even better.

Piccard was fast also, then almost went down, great recovery but did cost time.
Been some pretty spectacular skiing today. Definitely worth catching some highlights if you can. Don't usually watch much after the first 30, not so today.

Kriechmayr leads Odermatt in Super G standings by 83 pts, so needs to finish 14th or better in final race to guarantee title.

Laura Peel won gold. Danielle Scott 4th missing a medal. Her jump was fine, but she did a 360 on landing, stayed upright, but still cost points.

Men's final interesting. Austrian commentator rated the American with the best jump, but judges gave it to the Russian.

Vlhova wins, Liensberger 2nd yet again, 4th time this season, still looking for first world cup win.

Hasn't been much of a season for Kristoffersen. Now dropped out of the top 7 group.

Big mistake from Vlhova top of her run, just recovered, but nearly 3 of secs down. Will be a question of whether she gets in top 30 for 2nd run.

Shiffrin leading from Liensbserger. At this stage I don't see Vlhova qualifying for the 2nd run.

Petra does manage to just hang on in position 27, so gets a second run starting 4th and can still pick points to maintain lead in slalom title and overall.

Petra does well to move up to 8th place and hold a 22 point lead in slalom title, so still 3 in contention for that in final race next week. That one position could be critical. 9th position (29 pts) would have meant a lead of 19 pts rather than 22. Difference between 1st, 2nd & 3rd is 20 pts. So a 2nd place would clinch overall title.

Very fine margins. If she has lost another 0.2s in the first run, or 4 others were quicker she wouldn't have got a second run and not scored at all.

Marco Odermatt had an amazing 2nd run in the GS to win by over a second. He is in some pretty hot form at the moment and is chasing Pinturault hard for the overall title. Brennsteiner continues his improvement with another podium.

Katharina's win was pretty important. Not only her first personal world cup win, but the first for Austria in Women's slalom since Nicole Hosp in 2014. Hosp was commentating on this race. And thirdly it was the first for the Austrian women in any discipline this season. They have never gone without winning at least one race every season in World cup since it started in 1967, so that record remains intact.

One more race tonight in Slovenia before the finals. Marco Schwarz pulled out of the GS with back pains to concentrate on the slalom where he leads the standings. Finals for all events then in Lenzerheide starting Wednesday.

Katharina is also the current World Champion in Slalom as of her recent win in Cortina
and equal first in Parallel

Pinturault currently 4th needs good points here to build overall lead over Odermatt who is not racing slalom.

Pinturault straddles gate and out. Means Zenhäusen has to win to keep title alive.

Now into the last week with the finals in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, with a final race in each discipline starting Wednesday and finishing Sunday. Only the top 25 in each discipline, plus those with 500 points are eligible.
A few titles have already been decided, some almost, some still very much open.

Here is the current state:

Mens
Overall - Pinturault 1100, Odermatt 1069 - Alexis leads, but Marco has all the momentum
Downhill - Feuz 486, Mayer 418 - Beat 7th or better wins it, should manage that
Super G - Kriechmayer 401, Odermatt 318 - Vince 14th or better wins it, as above
Giant Slalom - Odermatt 625, Pinturault 600, Zubcic 526 - very much open Alexis would need to finish a couple of positions ahead of Marco
Slalom - Schwarz 625 - Marco claimed this yesterday

Womens
Overall - Vlhova 1352, Gut-Behrami 1256 - Lara may edge ahead after speed events, but Petra to reclaim in technical ones
Downhill - Goggia 480, Suter 410, Gut-Behrami 383 - Sofia has a good lead but is out injured, so Corinne can take it with a 2nd or Lara with a win
Super G - Gut-Behrami 525 - Lara claimed this last week
Giant Slalom - Bassino 510 - Marta claimed this last week
Slalom - Vlhova 612, Liensberger 590, Shiffrin 575 - this is the closest of the lot, the extra 2 points Petra got may be critical

Nations cup
Overall - Switzerland 9601 - comfortably 2 years in a row after Austria held it for 32 years
Mens - Switzerland 5072, Austria 4904 - still open but Swiss most likely
Womens - Switzerland 4529 - comfortably. Swiss team plenty of depth
