Food Allergies in Japan

    Some friends are looking at taking their daughter to Japan, but are a little concerned about availability of food due to allergies.

    From memory I think its nuts, egg, dairy.... might be a gluten thing in one of the other family members. Do they provide labelled advice in Japan for these things in supermarkets? Even if they do, probably in Japanese...

    My impression is that they would get by OK if set near a supermarket, but travelling may be more problematic.

    Anyone with experience / advice?
