Well past use by date. Ball of humerus, not displaced. Wear a sling and don’t lift heavy things. Bit late! Rode my bike home. o_O

Bummer, you’ll have to reduce the heavy lifting and go down from schooners of chardy to mere wee shot glasses!
    Get betterer soon!

Not really. Driving 300km through BC mountains the day after was a bit more uncomfortable.

I displaced mine a few years ago, partial dislocation, one AC stuff and two hours of memory lost and a concussion.

Luckily my deltoids were strong enough at the time that they need the bone in the right spot and I didn't need surgery.

Get in contact with a good sports physio, I was able to retain 95% range of motion thanks to getting into the physio fast.

Seeing one tomorrow. Mine was pure impact, no dislocation and I skied down. So not so traumatic. Still hurt though.

Hey chicski, if the docs are talking about a shoulder replacement, you should inquire about a reverse shoulder replacement
    Google it!

    I love talking about shoulders.

Next week, I'm having a Superior Capsular Reconstruction and six anchor screws removed. Then just for added fun, I'm also having a tendon transfer using the Lower Trapezius Tendon in place of the Infraspinatus Tendon, with an Allopatch using a donor ACL and heel bone.

Fourth shoulder operation over the last 20 Months (as well as an ACL reco and losing half the left meniscus). This will be my third season on the side line and nearly $24k on surgeries, MRIs and physio.

3 Days post rattling my brain on a box in the park I still have a constant headache, tinnitus, and my balance isn’t on point....my eyes are sore also but they might just be a bit sun effected from long days on the hill.

Taking the day off to rest tomorrow - no snowboarding. If resting tomorrow doesn’t see an improvement I’ll head down to the medical centre and get a scan.

I’m actually quite surprised to still be effected. I expected it to sort itself out much quicker than this.

    Not today.

I didn’t think I had any at all, but I was asked a specific question yesterday relating to a video we analysed the night before, and despite nodding and saying yep yep...I eventually had to say I couldn’t recall anything about the video from the night before...

Had significant nausea for a good 24hrs post head whack. No actual vom.

Todays it’s mostly just an annoying headache, and slight loss of balance if I move my head quickly.

Yeah... much as I hate to admit it. I think I’ve downplayed it somewhat so I could continue on my exam (subconscious bias, not deliberate).

Consider what behaviour you would expect of anyone you were instructing - would you want them to be upfront with you about the extent of any injury, or to persevere even when that could actually be detrimental?

    Oh don’t worry.
I was up front with my examiner.
And he picked me up from the wipe out.
I just didn’t realise myself that it was as significant as it seems it may be. I expected the headache to go by the next day.
We did communicate regularly through each day about how I was travelling, and rotational stuff was minimised to “show me one good one of each” rather than do a whole lap of them, only if you’re up to it. Don’t push it.

Hi there, I can’t take a trick. Been in hospital for nearly 3 weeks having had a further 3 surgeries with one more to come. I’ve had the hardware removed from my leg, debridements and one complicated procedure involving a skin graft and gastrocnemius flap (which is relocating part of my calf muscle over the tibia to improve blood flow over the area affected by osteomyelitis- bone infection). I needed the skin graft as the skin was damaged and tight on this part of the medial incision.

Surgeon told me to stick with green and blue runs from now on (reminded him of the location of the accident - Guthega Way).

Anyway, I’ll be allowed home soon, but need to come back in for surgery #13 in about 2 months. In the meantime I’ll tolerate this enforced isolation surrounded by an endless supply of hand sanitiser and toilet paper.

Hi Sadie, unfortunately I’m in leg salvage stage right now and at last chance to avoid amputation. I’ve had further surgeries now totalling 16 and have been in hospital since the end of February. My skiing days are done.

I’ll be happy to walk on two legs, but that’s not looking too good right now. The oozing just won’t stop and it’s killing my tibia. I’ve had microsurgery and muscle/tissue reconstruction. It’s a wait and see game right now and the surgeon said that he will amputate on my instructions. I told him that I’m not ready for that yet.

    cheers
