Impressive. Cutting blocks for an igloo and erecting it properly is a huge task and difficult to get right.
Yours looks far better than the rather feeble attempts I've been involved in.

How are the XC ski conditions up there at the unnamed 3rd highest peak in VIC.? There is some vegetation showing through.

I've always heard it referred to as Nelse North West. That makes sense to me as there are five high points.

The southernmost high point is officially Mt Nelse.
The next one is marked on old maps as Nelse Central.
Then there's Nelse North, the highest officially named one.
To the left and right of that are the points unofficially known as Nelse NW (the high point) and Nelse NE (the one with the monster snow drift).

But there's probably more fun in people making up their own names for it?

This was a week and abit ago, though there was atleast 1m on nelse and spion general area, the top of the unnamed peak was very thin with plants pushing through.

From a post by Xplora - "There is a point on Spione Kopje just west of Nelse that is higher but it does not have an official name. Probably doesn't count under the definition of a peak though. I have heard it called Maisie's knoll which I thought was fitting considering all the conservation work she did in the area many years ago."

That drift on the SE face on Nelse NE seens to have some of the latest lasting snow in Vic.

Believe I saw some snow patches there from Mt Wills one Xmas/NY break.

Admittedly its hard to see many of Bogong’s deep sth faces but Nelse NE would certainly challenge Mt B for the ‘Last snow’ title sth of the ‘Trump Wall’ ! (;-)

I've got a picture of that drift still fairly large on 26 November 2014 and another of patches still there 4th December 2015.

Cool, I may have photo evidence - too long ago! Summers blend!!

Sometimes you the light just right to see the smaller patches from distance.

A new hobby snowpatch watching! (/:-/)

A snow drift on Mt. Nelse North. late Dec. 2017. Photo by Mr. T.

I could see some snow drifts on Mt. Nelse from Mt. Wills early last summer.
