Not sure if it was the great snow, first time skiing with a beard or some change in management but I have to commend lift staff on being so friendly. Every single lift I rode I was greeted with at least a verbal "hey" n' smile, at loading and unloading. All guest services staff were also very enthusiastic and helpful too.

Maybe I've been skiing under a rock, but certainly am not used to this level of customer service provided at Falls.

    Well done!

Of all the places in Oz I've visited, Falls consistently have the friendliest crew of them all.

    Hellos ,smiles and waves abound.

Customer service is a huge part of the training that the Lift Crew undertake....only second to safety. Really noticeable this year due to a really high number of first timers (I think nearly 80%). They are doing a great job, the 'niceness' can be a bit frustrating for those of us that ride lifts for work but we know it is part of what keeps people coming back to Falls, and is a credit to the selection and training work done by Bec, Ben and Dave.

Never had a cranky lifty at Falls, can usually get a chat n grin.

Yeah, agree with this. I think that getting so many new staff up and ready to run so many open lifts early in the season has been a real stretch....fine tuning with sweeping off chairs etc will be the real show of ongoing training now that everything is up and running. Will mention it in a couple of ears ;)

Agree that FC are friendlier than the other major resorts.

Some could still learn to bump chairs properly though. One at Towers last week seemed to mistime it and bash my legs every time.

Some of the "friendly greetings" get a bit tiresome when they say the same thing every time you see them. Better than being surly, but some genuine chat/banter would be better.

Every time I get on a lift on a an absolute bluebird day, the guys on the lifts always say "How's it going etc. etc" My standard reply is "Shithouse", wish I was working like you guys are rather than what I'm doing. Always get's a grin and a wink. Give the guys a break.

Yeah always seem to have a happy and friendly disposition. I often marvel how they can maintain it through the monotony.
That said there's one surly middle aged women who we always see at the bottom of FX that gives us grief about our season pass photo's. Haven't seen her this year though, maybe the lemon she swallowed kept her from working up there this year.

Had some pretty ordinary service at Summit Ridge the other night also. Food was great but the waitress clearly didn't give a fugg about us or what she was doing. Only disappointment about an otherwise lovely meal.

The aforementioned "surly middle aged lady" left at the start of July, so worked maybe 2 weeks?

Do you recall whether the wait person at Summit was the younger girl in her late teens or the one in her mid 20s? Can definitely pass this feedback on to friends who work there. :)

Middle aged blonde woman working the lines at bottom of FX on Sunday was funny.
Read in chirpy, gentle, patient voice:
    "You're a 4?" "Good."
"Have we got 4 there? yes.",
"and are you a 2? Can we put you with this 2?", "Good" "Terrific".

Fantastic to see staff who proactively manage lines. My worst experiences have been at the bottom of towers; 1 lifty bumping the chair and two standing around doing not much. Pretty sure one of them is supposed to be outside the gates organizing the lines, because when its busy, its hell.

FC has always been good, but I figure this is one of the areas that will get the Merlin treatment resort wide.
