Hello Gay Ski Week Australia – Goodbye Frosty Fruits Ski Trip
Come out and join us for our 10th trip, and celebrate as we rename the “Frosty Fruits Ski Trip” to “Gay Ski Week Australia”!

We originally wanted a name that was gender neutral, fun and slightly quirky. The only problem was whenever we said to someone “we going on the Frosty Fruits Ski Trip”, they ask “what’s that?” We’d then reply “it’s Gay Ski Week Australia!”.

So we’d thought we shorten the conversation and celebrate the fact that we are Gay Ski Week Australia! In fact, since we’ve started using the updated brand, people have suddenly noticed that Australia has a gay ski week. I guess sometimes you just have to keep things simple!

However, we simply couldn’t restrain ourselves when designing this year’s event. We have expanded and improved on the program and in fact we have doubled your pleasure and doubled your fun because two resorts are better than one! Joining Hotham Alpine Resort in 2018, is her sister from across the Alps, Falls Creek! With two resorts, operating two programs back to back, across two weeks, we promise you one HELL of a gay time and the biggest gay alpine party Australia has ever seen!

Come and join us from September 5th at Falls Creek for 4 nights and then transfer to Hotham Alpine Resort for another 4 nights.

Double your pleasure, double your fun…
A full events program compliments the amazing snow conditions across both resorts. We now also have two tiers of event offerings and three levels of accommodation, catering to all budgets and tastes. Whether you are a Valley Events Pass Holder on a budget or on a Mountaineer Events Pass in one of our amazing five-star properties, you will find a range of events and access to suit.

    Welcome Falls Creek
Welcoming us to Falls Creek are a number of businesses and properties who are working with us to create a huge week. Featuring an amazing alpine village with full ski-in and ski-out accommodation, all amazing and all on-snow.

A unique accommodation hub has been created giving guests access to three amazing properties: Australia’s award-wining five star Astra Lodge, the fabulous Fruehauf Village (with hot tubs on each balcony) and the brilliant budget price digs at Silverski. Our budget rooms at Falls Creek start from $60 per night. Complimenting this accommodation hub is additional rooms located right in the feature event venue for Falls Creek, the QT Hotel. Each morning guests will gather for Morning Muster and an amazingly delicious breakfast. Each afternoon there’s special après action scheduled and then evening events to round out the day.

Night One launches with the official GSW Australia Welcome Party. Also in the program in a Queer Shorts Film Night, pool comp, pub nights, hot tub nightcaps and an amazing degustation menu at the award-winning Astra Lodge.

Guests will be transferred via premium 5-star heated coaches from Falls Creek to Mt Hotham (there’s even a Helicopter for those wanting the shortcut). No need to worry about hiring more snow gear, it’s all transferred with you.

    Welcome back to Mt Hotham

Previous attendees are very familiar with the premium Hotham Heights Chalets. These stylish properties are located right at the top of the village and are just meters from the Audi Quatro Chairlift and the Basin Run, giving you easy access to the resort!

We currently have five properties booked with additional White Crystal Apartments also available. In this year’s mix we do have saunas in some of the chalets, and our usual hospitality will operate, not to mention the balcony wine fridge!

The program follows a similar format to that at Falls Creek, with group breakfast at Morning Muster, group lessons, afternoon après and another bunch of cool evening events.

Group dinners, Trivia Night, Pizza & Beers are all in, plus a social “Off Piste Pasta Night” where you are encouraged to make your own signature pasta sauce, to be served with fresh mountain made pasta. There’s also the traditional Onsen “Soak & Spa” afternoon to help your muscles recover from the amazing week.

No winter gay festival would be complete without a final night wrap party! Building on last years fun final night, this year we have the final drink and dance at the “Chill” party, with DJ entertainment and humorously hosted by the incomparable Frock Hudson.

Gay Ski Week Australia 2018 runs from Wednesday 5th September, with Sunday 9th September as transfer day and then through to Thursday 13th September.
