@Richard I'm hereby petitioning you to correct a massive injustice on this forum. Give Corin Forest full Australian Ski Resort status!!! Currently within the skicomau forums Australian ski resorts are listed as: Corin Forest is the only commercial snow facility in the ACT and the closest ski or snow-play area to Canberra, about a 45-minute drive away. The resort uses snow-making technologies overnight when temperatures plunge to provide a consistent cover up to 2.5 metres deep. In 2019 Corin Forest invested in all-weather snowmaking technology as part of its climate change strategy. The machine makes flake ice inside the unit using refrigeration so the resort is not reliant on sub-zero temperatures in order to produce snow. Corin Forest plans to clear 2.25 hectares of native vegetation, carry out earthworks and install a ski lift and load and offload points, bull wheels and towers to add to the existing ski slope, snow-play area and alpine slide. As such Corin Forest clearly meets the standard as a bonfide Australian ski resort and I call on you to correct this injustice!!!
they have predominantly been a snowplay area. But once the lift goes in and they extend the sliding area they should be considered a proper resort
2.5m deep - I love Corin as a snowplay / toboggan area but struggle to comprehend it could get to that on anything other than extreme weather events? Do admit that the pic above looks like some pretty decent cover... The intermediate run should be awesome when its up and running. Applaud them for having a go at this.
According to the thread title, only skiers! No standing tobogganers. Controversial but canny. @DidSurfNowSki deadman walking.....
Well, if you want .... add it to the list . Ps non-ACT people welcome to try out our local little resort (I’m yet to make it there myself!).
no, but you do need a new refrigerator. isn’t the frozen milk giving you the shits? Or is that the cause of the 4x2?
Hey @DidSurfNowSki , not a real ski resort yet. Once the Vail overlords get onto it, snap it up, and put it on the Epic pass .... then were talking Shouldn't be long On the bright side, probably the only resort left in Oz they can buy without the ACCC kicking up a stink
There was an original one in the "cafe" when I worked there, but it was before the internet, so its probably lost. We had a French chef who couldn't cook for shit, late night ski parties with the doors open and the music blaring, bad hair (I actually had hair!), bad ski clothes, LOOK integrated boot/bindings, ah, so many fond memories.
Not to mention it was open for more days this year than Thredbo whoever that super smart and beautiful and wonderful person was that got to be first lifted skier in the Southern Hemisphere 2020 was probably there on 6 June 2020
Where TF is that??? Need to kill. That’s like from 20 years ago when some stupid advertiser wanted us to demonstrate the audience was into snow sport. (The whole advertising industry is full of dickheads - who the f*** did they think visited our site??? Folk into tropical fish keeping FFS!!!)
Normally at this time of the year I'm looking forward to some NH ski action so I've got to fill my time in somehow Might go for a wander somewhere instead.
