My gloves were stolen from the women’s toilets at Cloud 9 Restaurant today. I left them for all of 30 seconds on a bench. Call me naive but I’m very disappointed. I hope whoever did this is pleased with themselves. Always a life goal to be a thief.
Hopefully just a case of mistakenly picked up, did you check ticket off lost property? Shame your first post in the forums had to be a vent about this!
arseholes everywhere it seems. I've often left gloves on a bench outside toilet stalls and never had a problem. Hope the karma bus catches up with them
Stolen by a thief or accidentally taken? A ski resort is full of far more dumb that it is devious. Were they a special glove that would be attractive to steal?
Not in lost property yet if accidentally taken. I’m not sure about special but leather and super warm ones gotten overseas so maybe. I still can’t believe someone would actually bother to pinch gloves. Really? Fingers crossed they show up in lost property tomorrow.
Last time I lost something I found FC didn't have a lost property system. So start asking and follow the next steps suggested to you. I found mine in the ATS building after going all over the mountain. Good luck.
I’m sorry to say, but based on what you say I think you’re right - they’re stolen. Sorry to hear that.
Given people at Perisher are walking off with skis and boards on a regular basis I think something like an unattended nice pair of gloves doesn’t stand a chance even in quiet and traditional FC.
Just to help people understand the awareness of some of our ski resort visitors, this was relayed to me today by a very frequent Hotham skier..... At Hotham Central area there is a sign for the Hotham Free Skier Squad club area over a ski rack that says 'Hotham Free Ski'. People of ethnic minorities were found walking off with skis thinking it is a rack of free skis.
A few years ago finished night skiing at Falls & my wife and i went into Stingrays for a couple of drinks, placed our boards on the ground along with any number of other boards.. Had a couple of drinks & went back to get our boards and call it a night, head outside and our boards are not there, look around and i see a kid (maybe 10-11) walking off with my board i yell out to him. Its then his father comes up to me asking what is wrong?? I say your kid is walking off with my property & it looks as though your daughter has my wifes board... Father says, "Well you were not using them, the kids just want a sled & all these boards are just laying around"
This @Sadie when that dude was using someone's board for same at the plaza that time. Same quote. .." kids just want to slide, so many on the snow to use"
I was so mad. Told them to keep their grubby hands off peoples stuff. At Buller earlier this year, some dude walked off with my mitts right in front of me. They were laying on top of my board right near where I was sitting. I turned my head, looked back and he’d walked off with them. I gave chase (hobble) and grabbed them out of his hand.
Just to be clear physical violence is NEVER condoned on these forums and it would be appreciated if you could reconsider your comments with a more objective view. I do understand the impassioned emotional response, we try and maintain a higher position here. YFNHM
Was intended to be humorous albeit in poor taste. Apologies again @trappers if it came across the wrong way
At Falls 3 weeks ago, eating lunch at Cloud 9 and there was a punter sitting there with his board.. Thought at the time he was clueless , turns out reading this, he might have been onto something.
