Is there much chance of the Golf Course Bowl opening any time soon? I keep looking at the trails list on the Thredbo site. Almost all of the resort is open except for that side.

@JoeKing, yes, maybe depends. Unofficially been open for at least a week

    Sweet. Unofficial is close enough!

Rule of thumb is, they'll open it when there's more than 1m at Spencer's Creek, but it won't be particularly good until it gets to 1.5m.

Definitely not worth it until Spencers is at 2m.

My old man (who told me this rule of thumb) has high standards and memories of some very good years.

Common sense as always. If the cover's thin enough, that you're picking your way through tangles of branches one turn at a time, there's probably better skiing elsewhere.

I'd actually say 3m limit. Don't go near the place until then. ;)

    Reckless. I'd say 5m+.

Oh I see. Like that is it? Reminds me of the guy in the ski shop in Banff with the 'Welcome to Banff - now go home' tee shirt.

Simplest rule is look at Cannonball.

Does Cannonball look skiable? Then GCB will be.
Does Cannonball look enticing? Then GCB will be.
Does Cannonball have a foot on fresh on a good base? Then !!#$@!!! off! GCB IS MINE :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
