I'm watching the TV news and have nothing else to do, so here's a list of ski lifts named after car sponsors. Most sponsor names only last a few years until the sponsorship ends when they gain a more conventional ski lift name. Thredbo: (Toyota Land) Cruiser, this chairlift has kept its name for its whole life and I think there still is Toyota signage on the lift. Hotham: Audi Quattro. Falls Creek: Billia Volvo. Perisher: (Land Rover) Freelander, (Subaru) Forester and (Jensen) Interceptor… or perhaps not, as Jensen stopped making their Interceptor GT car before the Interceptor chairlift was built. Buller: Holden, Mercedes Benz and (Land Rover) Discovery. Skyline was built as a rope tow in 1959 and rebuilt in its current form as a T-bar in 1963, so it has nothing to do with the Nissan Skyline which was introduced in 1968. Mt Buller also had an airline sponsorship with the Emirates chairlift.
