Hey all. Well, the wife and I took our two kids on our annual Selwyn pilgrimage last Thurs and Fri. Great weather with sun and no wind, and complete snow cover which was a bit icy on Racecourse, Kangaroo Ridge, Tunnel Run, Emu's Chase and Meadows, but nice and soft elsewhere.

Hill was uncrowded, car park half full and smiles all round. Best bit was "slush freshies" on Powerline. Basically, the light snowfalls of a few cm earlier in the week were soft and inviting on top of a hardpack base, and no one was skiing them except us. Here's the crappy quality YouTube vid featuring three generations of my family.

Now here's an equally amateurish vid of my daughter on Township run. Mind you I took this on my Blackberry so what can you expect? By the way, excuse the embarrassing comments by me on each vid. Proud Dad syndrome.

And of course, no day at Selwyn is complete without the obligatory snowball fight in the trees beside the car park after skiing. And no snowball fight is complete without tears at the end, and a snowball thrown at the camera!

In summary, I love Selwyn, even if the runs are short. Oh, and my Dad enjoyed his first trip to Selwyn too. He is 71 and has skied 84 resorts worldwide! Surprisingly he said he has been to quite a few places that had crappier skiing than Selwyn - like Perisher... [IMG]
