For me, this is the differentiator with Euro skiing. It's just so huge and so awe inspiring.

It's when the guide points to some distant mountain, many km away, and says "Today, ve end up over zhere!"
It's when I stop for a breather, km from a groomed slope, and just gawk at enormity of the Alps.

Yeah I remember being near the bottom of the Grand Envers, above the last pitch that takes you down to the Mer de Glace, and realising that the vert we needed to ski was similar to a decent quality northern hemisphere resort, but in relation to the surrounds it looked like a short little ski.

The scale & calibration messes with your head.

To appreciate the enormity and vastness of the Alps you've actually had to have been there and gone off the-beaten-track.

    On scale:

I took this pic when I was skiing with DWD and the duckling. The day previous Jerome and I skied the other side of the valley:

    Zoom in to our tracks:

This is what it looked like over there:

And looking back to where I took the first pic (grey but you get the idea):

And that's what I'm kind of hoping. We did get pretty lucky with conditions on our first trip to Cham, but we could tell that skiing with Alpine gear was not the way forward.

So we decided to make the investment and return the following year with a full kit of touring gear.

In terms of life decisions that we have made, it's right up there.

We've now been back a number of times, we've explored an enormous amount, and not to mention using those skills in the Australian Alps ever since. Jerome still smiles like a proud parent when I show him pics of us snow camping on Bogong or the Main Range.

It's really redefined skiing for us.

    Looks like a fun trip.

    I hope it's a success for you.

Great location. Keep your numbers low and set firm boundaries up front and early otherwise you can become your guests whipping boy. At the rates you're asking which are highish but not unreasonable for what's being offered; as a guest I would be putting the pressure on if things aren't being delivered and contrary to all good intentions, shit just happens which 9 times out of 10 is beyond your control but it's your job to deal with it. So make sure your contingencies are rock solid and you have good on the ground back up.

    Woohoo enjoy!!

    Thanks mate.

We're used to the pressure of the expectations of people paying the best part of $1000/day to ski with us. If we were still doing it, at the current exchange rate it would be more like $1200!!!!

Perhaps I should put you in touch with our French DPS rep and you can throw in some super lightweight DPS Tour1 touring skis to add some extra value to your customers experience.

That top pic is one of my favourite pics of myself skiing. I was verging on tears by the bottom it was that good - 50cm of new snow, first into an iconic Chamonix line, after skiing the top bit Jerome proclaimed it safe and told me to go for it.
