Do people still ski it or is just a transport lift now? I reckon it'd be a nice run to take my gf down to slowly introduce her to steeper terrain especially if it's empty. Hopefully there is snow...

It is where night skiing is when there is snow down there, yeah it still has a ski loading.

yep - quick way to international poma & gateway cafe from the bowl
nice and sheltered for less experienced skiiers on windy days..
It gets patchy at the bottom, so check it before sending her down...

In reasonable cover, it's quite skiable, but I don't think it's much good for your purpose. It tends to be narrow and really dictate where you turn. Village would probably be better. In really good cover, there can be really nice skiing in the short glades runs above gully.

yea on windy days it is often the only lift open, and is also access down to the bottom of the International Poma, so gets a bit of traffic. Problem is for beginners is that is narrows at the bottom into a creek, which depending on snow levels is sometimes fenced off, sometimes not. If there is a lot of snow it is suitable for beginners, as you can make turns all the way down and up the high face, but in marginal cover there are plenty of rocks.

Having just come back from Falls Creek and staying at Snowki which looks onto the Gully, I can tell you that it is packed on days when the lift ystem is on wind hold. Also at the end of the day there are lots of kids who stay on it 'til qhite late as the Gully chair is open til 8pm.
