    If that's 1HP @ Hotham, YES.

Not bad, like any mid-range lodge.

Massive kitchen, great upper floor views in shared area. Great large lounge/kitchen open plan style on same floor.

    Nice big fireplace, very warm.

Some youngin's get sprung at 2am, when shaggin on lounge area..

    Not bad rooms, very clean...

Looks crap from the outside but not bad inside.

All typical lodge features, dry room, laundry, bathrooms etc.

Bit of a hike from the GAR but nothing short of fun, when drunk.

    Number entry door system.

Thanks Fangin'. I guess I mean the 1HP, but everywhere seems to call it IHP. Nether really makes much sense. [IMG]

It is the roman numeral one, 'I', as in "One Horse Power".

Dunno what Fangin is talking about with it being a long way from the great alpine road, it is actually one of the closer lodges, just behind sun apartments, a short walk from Jack Frost unloading.

As Traps said, it's the roman one.
I put the engrish one, for chits n giggles.
It is just behind the sun appartments but still not as close to the GAR as Trapdoor lodge is.

nah cqen, I only said that cause I got lost one night and did a whole village loop in that area, only to find out it was easy to get to in the first place.

Fell asleep in the snow after J.Frost/Genny/the rounds if that helps, just cause...

Wow, just to resurrect an old thread... any update on how it’s travelling this year? Management/ condition of it etc? It’s just come up as an option for us.

I always thought it was architecturally interesting, sort of like an inverted A-frame with the pointy bit embedded in the dirt. And yes, 1HP stood for One Horse Power, allegedly the output of their generator when it was built in 1973 in the days before mains electricity at Hotham.

Lodge is clean and tidy, good lounge and kitchen, bedrooms have a few bunk beds but not ensuites.

The last I heard of it was a few years ago when there were allegedly insufficient active members to keep the club going and they were apparently trying to find another club to pass it on to. I have no idea if that hearsay is true or not, but old timers say they were a good club back in the day so I hope they survived as a club, or if not, I hope their rather distinctive lodge survives and isn't demolished to make way for another soulless block of flats.
