It's too dangerous and inappropriate to have an aerial cull in the same zone as a major charity event. Surely it's prudent to delay the cull for a week to be cautious. I think all of the insurers would agree.
Sorry ...Team Bears thought it sounded like Sandbar! A few deer on the bike track ....could be beneficial in slowing the luny bikes diwn a bit on the shared footpath! What are the population forecasts for KNP.....one deer, goat and pig for every 100sq.meters by 2050. Just don’t mention horses!
Shot horses are hard to hide. No professional marksman would target something unofficially. The horses are safe.
So ridiculous to cull all the others and not one of the main culprits of destruction. Shame we can't get that bacon and venison easily onto the back of trucks. Tasty.
The rangers and contractors who've been shooting ferals on foot have been walking past horses for years. They'll get a couple of hundread deer and pigs in a program and walk past even more horses.
Someone should post one of the Guy Fawkes images to the jindy FB page with the caption "bogong creek today"
The cull is ok. It would be nice if they could collect the remains. The radio said earlier the charity ride is finished and was a massive success. Raised over half a million for charity. Awesome.
The horse people will be happy for more deer, pigs and goats to be shot as that will mean more feed for the horses and they will not starve to death. Aerial shooting of animals other than horses if perfectly humane. Not many deer will be shot in the thick country. Parks Vic abandoned the Pinnibar aerial shoot because of scrub and tree cover. The shoot in open areas was far more successful and it will start on Bogong High Plains soon.
Well they better not shoot up Toms Hut or Team Bears will be upset! Perhaps it’s a good idea for a fluoro chimney top ...just so it’s apparent from the air?? We thought the aerial shoot up was a trial anyway to test the efficacy of this method of culling deer. Are there dates fir the proposed shoot up on Bogong Highplains.. Team Bears have their own works program soon to commence in the general area....bit hard to hear those gunships with the chainsaw revving!
Well I think that was the intention when they set up Canberra! Not geographically the centre of the land mass.....but far enough away from Melb and it’s sister city to keep the serial pests away from the general populace. I think the Lizard reference comes from their propensity to sit around all day and do nothing! Oh the Lizard People of the ACT.
Speaking in tongues sounds alien reptilian when you hear it. Just an observation. I find them a bit scary.
Having muffets in one location could be good idea. That way they cause less disruptiion along the eastern seaboard!
Scientists, weirdo anti horse fascists! https://www.theguardian.com/austral...-to-plants-after-passing-laws-to-protect-them
“At the very least, they can be rounded up and relocated to other brumby organisations. “You can even put them in national parks where there are other brumbies now. What a **** wit!
Should read some of the comments about the heritage brumbies and how the Army "owes" them. The feral horse on Singo are decsendants of Welsh ponies released in the 1930s. An adult wouldn't be able to ride them anyway... At least the plan on Singo is to aerial cull all of them due to unexploded ordnance.
The narrative around feral horses has become just another sordid political game. No one actually gives a shit about the horses as "The cause" takes precedence.
I dunno. Some very very invested people in horse world, who just cannot believe anyone would shoot a horse or do anything but love the **** out of them.
Just mentioning facts will get your threatened by a rogue brumby patriot Its gone full Montana militia
