We had good 10, more like 15 but had to hike a very long way for it!

Quick trip y'day. Cracking day
Pretty good cover still and although grooming a bit limited, the snow was skiing nicely after a re-freeze. Patchy down low off-piste, but still very good in groomed / snow making areas.
Definitely worth the drive and Covid test

Good one - I’ve seen a lot worse in mid September.

Dedicated.
Good snow quality this late in the season, gotta make the most of it. My kind of day - snow was primo in the late arvo

In retrospect booting out up the ridge would probs have been easier

Couple of narrow gully chute-lite lines between marys and the chute look nicely topped up

The wind ruined the snow falling last night, made for disappointing freshies inbounds today.
So headed to some closed resort areas instead.

I secretly wanted to poach @hongomania 's Mary's Slide stash before he got to ski it, but it looked wind scoured and ruined from above, and reports from people later claim that it wasn't worth the effort.

Instead I went further out and 4 laps of the Orchard area, plus 1 tree hill on the way back, then a few laps of Lindsays as the snow softened.
I had hoped my turns would be visible from the resort, but the wind and occasional snow flurry meant each lap was buried before I even got to the top for my next run.

On the way home I noticed some noob had side slipped the whole of hackers horror ... snowboarders man. Why'd he even bother ducking the rope.

Full marks for dedication there.. The only time I've done daylight savings skiing was in the aftermath of the massive 2017 season...

those south sides can take a long time to thaw, this is one of my favourite pix of a kid who doesnt like his dad as much because he is a teenager now, deep in skeleton gully (next one round from hangmans off Higgi), well after 6pm in that 2017 year, im pretty sure it was daylight saving already.

Hah awesome.
I'll have to scout it and see if there's still snow there. This season started big but after that we just got virtually nothing :(
I just found it on a 1980s-90's era map.

Heaven, we’ve got the place to ourselves. I’m guessing the rest of Melbourne are at Chaddy.
we're planning on doing a quick run of imagine before melbourne cup tomorrow, probably 10am from loch carpark, if you wanna tag along?

last day of the season?
with rain forecast for every day the next 9 days its pretty safe to say there will be no more snow left.
there's a couple of large flat areas that still have snow, but they're not very exciting to ski, we go for the skiable pitches.

today makes the 7th month I've skied this year. approximately 150 "days" (even one run counts right?).
woohoo. I think I've made the most of it.

we hit both patches that are leftover in peach bowl, and then hiked over to the top 3 patches that make up imagine.
a whopping 5-7 turns per patch, except for the peach bowl skinny strip. that was skinny jump turns, with my ski tips and tails almost touching rocks every jump. I couldn't ski the last 3m because my skis were too long.
