Opinion Hotham - Spring Plus Pass Season Resort Entry

So keen to here thoughts on the Hotham Spring Plus Pass launced last week.

$99 gives resort entry for June and September.

My take:
Again Hotham RMB takes the piss out of regular Hotham skiers. While I can see the value of this pass (i'll probably purchase), the RMB still don't offer a competitive season resort entry pass. While I assume the 'Early Bird' pass will still be available, the savings offered on this and the Spring Plus pass pale into insignificance when compared to the early bird offers of the other resorts.

Lets be honsest, the June period is small - if attending Opening weekend festivities it will be ok, and if we have another 'bumper' spring, then the pass is great value - for those periods. If we don't have a good spring.......

I understand that is the risk of Australian skiing but I'm just dissappointed the RMB again isn't offering a more competitive product for those of us who frequent the resort regularly during the whole season. The Hotham Resort Entry pass has been the most expensive for the last couple of years (without counting the Village Pass at Buller) and has driven up the price of the 'All Resorts' Pass.

I may be just being petty, please feel free to tell me to sit down and shut up - I'm just keen to hear from other Hotham regulars to see if I'm out of touch or just a cheapskate.

For anyone who usually skis in Sept, but not much in peak then i suppose it is attractive.
I don't know anyone in that category.

If it's available to buy in sept, not just a preseason special, then it may be attractive in a good spring.

Glancing at the webpage they look to be targeting snowplay/experience rather than skiing. Maybe trying to turn day trippers into short stayers? Asian market perhaps?

I suspect with financial results last couple of years they would be trying to (having to) pull revenue forward as much as they can to maintain cashflow.

I suspect that the summer bike season is a major driver of FCRM financial issues. It would appear a huge cost with negligible revenue for FCRM. Summer season activities are essentially funded by skiers/winter visitors.
