At this stage, there is no-one in the apartment next week until Friday if you want access. PM or call me and we'll arrange something if it works.
Ill get in touch when Ive sorted out a plan and when. School hols now so Ill wait till that's done and need a bit more snow on the ground to ski on too.
The cam is updating but the time is wrong. I can see the images coming in on the server here direct from the cams and new images are incoming its just the time on VS cam images is wrong. The file names contain the time which a script I run then strips out and uses in the image.
See image here that shows cam images coming in APIRA cam time matches the server time close but the VS cam is out by a lot. Both cams send images every ten minutes, so VS server time showing 3:42PM meaning the image was created some time within the previous ten minutes before it was sent during 3:32 PM and 3:42 PM. However the cam internal clock it used in the file name is 3:17 PM so the time the images was taken was actually some time between 3:32 PM and 3:42 PM even though it is marked in the image as 3"17 PM Since the cams are soon to be placed I have noi plans to fix that in the means time and cant do anything about it remotely as I don't have the IP at LTB's apartment and seems to recall I did not set a port forward rule last time I set the cam up anyway to be able to log in to it remotely/.
@luvthabumps Are you going to be up at Buller soon ? If possible could you take a pic of the router set up on the bench, I need to add the POE power injector and a double adapter to plug in to 240v alongside the current power supply and just need to know what kind of double adapter Ill need to bring or if there is power strip so I need to bring a bigger one etc Also, could you take a few pics of the cable where it runs through the hole in the base of the sliding door track, MX mentioned the cable was damaged but I need to know if the cable itself is damaged or just the black outer cover so I can bring some more outer cover or if I need to bring more to fix Ethernet or power cable if they are damaged. Can send them to my phone. Thx
We have school trials Monday so I'll be up for the day and able to get in then. We did have a booking for the week but old mate decided to cancel last week when snow wasn't looking so good. Sucks to be him as he lost a big deposit ( Airbnb rules) and now next week is looking pretty good.
Thank's Rich Ill sort that out later on after the cams are up, I'm planning on seeing @CarveMan at some stage for some new gear so Ill have a chat to him then.
funny story actually - old mate cancels and then emails me that he hasn't got the full refund per the policy of cancelling more than 14 days out ( he was about 16 days). I said I'd look into it. At this stage I was pretty happy to refund all of it even though there was little chance I'd rebook it. Turns out that he needed to cancel more than 14 days out but also within 48 hours of booking to qualify for the full refund! He then escalates to Airbnb who contact me to say he has now decided to rebook - will I refund his non refundable deposit if he does? Spidey sense goes off - "sure, I'll refund the deposit he lost....after 48 hours of course, so he doesn't just cancel the new booking straight away and take everything with a virtual "up yours" to me". What a surprise - he never rebooks. If he had have just been straight I would have worked something out with him but he thought he would stitch me up and in doing so did himself out of 50% of his $$
I'm with you. People not in hospitality or travel have no concept that your product has the shelf life of a banana and that you have this one moment to sell it or lose - and nothing is more so than the 10 week window of snow sport.
Have image from LTB (thanks) Ill sort that, dab of silicone on it and a wall clip to get it out of the way.
Predictions for snow coming next week finally. Could be time to dust off the skis and test out the new cams?
Would be great to watch the big storm unfold in glorious HD. I assume you won't be up there in time though?
It will be after the deed is done. I'm going up for 3 days next Tue,Wed and Thur and cams will be going up then.
Yep and just picked up new skis (174.3 Black Crow Orbs) and boots (Salomon QST PRO 120) from Angus at aussieskier so keen to give them a run on new snow.
Bit of ground work on cams this arvo Fixed ethernet cable at VS cam and removed the temp unit at APIRA and replaced it with timer switch to turn on night light every night 6pm to 6am Cam swap tomorrow Not sure which will be done first
Orbs are magic, turn on a dime, so easy to turn i was throwing in extra turns just for the fun. Boots all good so fa too Vid and pics to come.
VS cam is up Look upon it folks Click on the image to behold its massiveness. I just pulled the hood back that is in shot top corners.
Was a long job Had to fit an extension to the base mount to point it left. Bit of drilling also some cutting of the hood to move it out from the railing too.
Looking towards next week's snowfalls, even though I'll be about 300m away I'll be happily refreshing!
Here I am all excited and alas - still have to move the mouse... Maybe @Richard needs to know the new camera is in...
@DbSki great effort. You have to be pleased with that result. Looking forward to the next one. I don't think you will be required to buy a drink at any ski.com function.
Wow that’s a ripper. VS is still #1 but I reckon that’s actually a bigger improvement on the original.
