someone should pony up a season pass for that excellent service.
Looks great and we will avoid @LiveToSki getting RSI now that he doesn’t have to move his mouse when clicking through the cam tour arrows!
She is a thing of beauty. Well done to everyone involved
My mild OCD has been cured. I can now spend hours clicking without moving the mouse. Maybe I need to get out more - might take the week off to go skiing
Thanks to @Richard @CarveMan @luvthabumps @DbSki for getting this upgraded.
Just gave APIRA cam a small move to the right, no need to see the side of the lodge.
Also fixed the server script to increase the size of the heading font so its readable
Plus new cam sponsor on VS cam heading aussieskier.com
Loving the wider field of view and higher res. Being able to see sky and to the clock tower will give us a much better idea of what the conditions are really like.
Thanks all involved
Looks good. Could the view stretch further to the right, across to The Avenue or is it blocked by the roofline?
Don’t forget ski.com.au - @Richard started this after all!
Not happy DbSki, how am I supposed to do any work next week when the snow arrives? just in time for my 3 day trip Mon-Wed starting 26th.
Congrats to all. Best cam in Oz just got a whole lot better
Stunning images today with the sun out!
Looking forward to the snowy ones this week too.
Could do but there is nothing to see there, when I first put the cam in I had it pointed that way but shifted it to where it faces now.
Rather see the mountain views and its better in summer too.
Some old images I found
Images incomplete (some or most of the image is grey)
The image upload to the server is not completed.
Old cams used to do it now and then and I thought it may have been the script interrupting it but not so and the newer cams are doing it more often being much larger files.
For some reason that upload stalls or get cut off.
Ive been working on it but yet to find out the cause.
I don't want to get into it too much at this stage in case I the cams to hang up.
Both cams upload to the same folder and FTP account so am going to try making a separate folder for each one and FTP account so they don't conflict, but to do that Ill have to be up there to get to APIRA cam so may do that Wed.
I was going to add a file test to the script to at least it doesn't update the images until it has a completed one.
See how it goes.
So...got both cams sending images to separate folders using separate log in accounts on the server after changes to the script and new details in the APIRA cam however it does not seem to have fixed the fault
VS cam still faltered with partial images.
However what I did find in the APIRA cam admin logs was the specific errors which is FTP timeout errors, a long list of them.
It is pointing to any issue at my host server end so am going to contact them to see if they can resolve it and maybe increase the FTP timeout limits.
Also messed with some settings and turned down the maximum gain settings on APIRA cam (same as ISO setting in digital cams) and got rid of all the image noise in the image at night time, the upshot of that is the sensor wont run so hot and will last longer.
The old cam there had a few dead pixels from the continued high sensors gain on it at night times.
Hi @Richard - I think @CarveMan posted an image from a 'boggy creek' cam that is looking towards Summit. The camera is on the MtBuller web site. Can it be added to this website?
You like looking at dirt?
There’s gonna be some big tonka trucks digging a hole in said dirt pretty soon
Not wanting to complain about slow service - but jeezze... Surley you dont have anything more important to do than drop everything and respond to each and every random request!
Any luck here @Richard ?
hi @Richard - looks like you need to change the name of "Bluff View" camera to "Standard Run"
Thanks, on it
I obviously knew the Buller village cam was upgraded, but didnt know it was paid for and organised by these forum members, Thank you for that, its very much appreciated.
VS cam is down while renovations are on going at Le Bumpy Palace.
It shall return at some stage.
