    Go to http://maps.six.nsw.gov.au/

    Search for thredbo

Use Distance Tool to measure the length of the slope you want between contour lines

    Divide vertical/horizontal

apply inverse tan trigonometry function to get slope angle in degrees (you remember this from school right?)

How about just anecdotally answering these, say compared to the steepest known slope/part of slope in resort as experienced by riders?

If they're more than zero degrees then all the snow will melt.

    Note to all:

Whilst I have read a number of Simon's blog posts in the past, I had not, until just now, read his post "Nacho Soup".

I heavily advise against reading this whilst in bed if your significant other is asleep next to you. You will be forced to clamp you entire hand very heavily over your mouth in a vain attempt to suppress the stream of laughter that you are so desperately trying to avoid.

    This will fail

The shaking of the bed from your upper torso laughter tremor will also wake your partner. This is not going to end well.

You will, at this point, be slapped.

So..now I want to read it.
But I am torn because PB is happily snoring in bed next to me.
    This is not good.
I do not know what to do.

Do it and just tell him it was his snoring that was shaking the bed and of course it was so funny watching him wake himself up with his own snoring you had to laugh.
