How to get to Hotham before the opening weekend.

I am trying to arrange public transport to get me from Melbourne to Mt Hotham on Wednesday 9th June (or somewhere near that date). I will be working at Mt Hotham for the season, so only require a one way trip.
Is there a bus service directly from Melbourne? If not is there a service that meets the Vlink from Wangaratta, Bright or other ?
Snowball and QantasLink don't start until end of June.
OR
Is there anyone heading up by car from Melbourne or any Train station that can fit one well rounded me, my board and bags. Would be more than willing to pay my share.

I have emailed the bus company but I am waiting to hear from them .... on the website it says the summer service stops in May -- I am hoping that means there is a winter service starting after that and not a gap of no service until late June !?@##
