Nice if you got to Bogong ......
NSW ain't got anything to compare with this.....Cleve Cole Hut.......

and one must remember the Victorians are nicer friendlier folk ..
....this little Hut sits very close too the top of the main Bogong Cirque.....

Oh these photos are quite recent should that be important!

The strange looking structure is a dunny(toilet)not common on Main Range Kosy....enjoy these pics Maritxu....oh the comprehensive list by crackson just seemed to omit this splendid edifice. The bit displayed is open to the general public too.

Think you should take another photo of the dunny after a busy weekend, guessing a poo tube might look pretty inviting

So many Victorian hut pictures here. The OP said he wants to go to Kosiciuszko, so why are we putting Victorian pictures here. When we should be putting more into helping Maritxu with his NSW tour. Good luck Maritxu.

    Glad we could assist.

Maritxu is landing in Melb according to OP....I am saying why waste time with NSW at all.....He wanted to go to Kosy at some stage but as we have pointed out it's really a waste of of time....anyway one can see Main Range from Bogong that is probably sufficient..

He wanted to ski from Hut to Hut according to OP....so Team Bears are showing him one of the best Huts in the Australian Alps....Cleve Cole Hut.

We are also showing that toilet facilities are provided..and one does not need to freeze ones asse off with a poo Tube.....

These pics are the only ones of Cleve Cole displaying the area provided to the general public....

No posts here for ten days from anybody else ...?.so I am glad to have invigorated discussion.

    Cheers everybody.....

We did note that there were two opened toilets provided by Parks Vic..for public use on the leeward side of the toilet block.
Cleaning the tiolet bowel is not really hard work I would have thought!

We also would say that though Rawsons Pass has a wonderful toilet complex it is closed for the whole of winter.

And to the best of my knowledge Seamans Hut has no temporary or permanent toilet so carrying a poo Tube is necessary.

Now if I have posted something that's incorrect please feel free to reply.

Remember Op...."I would like to go up Kosy at some point".

They are the words Maritxu used.....

I am saying don't bother .Much more rewarding to stay in Victoria...
So discussions on Victorian Ski Touring and Huts are equally relevant.

    Cheers:thumbs:

Feel free to demonstrate the value of Seamans Hut...by posting photos of its interior.....

Oh I see Mr T has posted a pic of Seamans Hut for Maritxu...perhaps we could get a look at its spacious interior and facilities.....perhaps crackson you could help out here with a few pictures so we have a bit of balance in the forum....

I stand corrected...for in 1977 The Geographical Names Board of NSW changed it from Kosciusko to Kosciuszko..adding a z.

But we see Jellybeans has an i in the wrong place....so this is good we can all spell it now!

Cleve Cole Hut is nice but it cannot be included on a hut to hut ski tour if you were wanting to ski all the time. There would be a great deal of walking involved if you came from the Bogong High Plains huts via Duane/T spur or Timms and Quartz. Get over this competition between the states. It is embarrassing and very high school. You should not be reliant on huts or toilets in any state.

The OP from the EU is female and has asked about ski hire in VIC and NSW. I have sent a PM about ski hire as best as I know it in NSW and in VIC.

    Good evening all

    We are now in Melbourne

any suggestion of particular websites to check the weather forecast in Falls creek, Hotham, Perisher n Tredbo?

I've been looking at 2 sites tonight and one of them says 40km/h winds and the other says 7km/h
Please, do not send more pictures since I'm limited with loading capacities.

We will leave Melbourne on tuesday, we've got in mine going to Falls creek or Hotham in a first stage and then move up to Perisher or Thredbo.
People told us there has not been much snow neither low temperatures.
Feedback is welcome on the weather n snow conditions.

all the best and thank you all for the help,

    Maritxu

There has been recent snow Falls....more snow is expected early this week too.Do heed avalanche warnings should you be travelling on the steeper slopes.BOM for best weather reports.
Avalanche possibility on steeps around Bogong and off Razorback .....others will provide detail that you need....it's well out of my expertise level....

Touring info to most Huts around Falls I can provide should you ask specifically.

A winter back country ski/ snow shoe tour of the Bogong High Plains starting from Fall's Creek to Edmondson's hut etc. via Heathy Spur, from hut to hut is totally possible at present. Following the pole lines is a good idea where they can be found but do a carry a proper map and compass and PLB. There is enough snow and it should snow more soon.Any questions? Send me a PM. :)

Also keep an eye on the backcountry trip reports forum here for recent experiences.
There are also a number of contributors here that seem to out amongst it very regularly that generously report BC conditions regularly in one thread or another.
You can follow their recent posts by clicking on their profile ..here are a few suggestions..folk can add more.

The groomers will get some of their skate trails up shortly then over dam wall towards Wallaces and Cope Hut so travel should be pretty easy..they will also groom out to Pretty Valley Hut ....those two groomed trails will greatly help you as you go backcountry...to get out with a pack .Ruined Castle into Pretty Valley can get tricky in bad weather....take some time to navigate well.....once you are out at Cope Hut or Pretty Valley then the pole lines make it a breeze even in very bad weather. There are numerous pole lines to all Huts up there which is one hell of an advantage in marginal conditions.
