Must a been a temporary Hammo event.

,,, maybe not. The progress bar takes for ever.. to do nothing. No percentage progress shown. Eventually, and this is only a 170kb image... it just appears, ready to thumbnail or full size. Very odd. Chrome. Mac OS latest.

I had that issue sending up a pic from here earlier today. (but)

I went and kicked the router in the guts and all good. Picked up a better line speed in the process. Win.

Sometimes (I'm with telstra also) a new IP addr is what I need. Servers will block my page requests and I'll reset and all is good. I suspect sometimes even deeper routing mumbo jumbo is going on as well. Hoping over to another IP seems to sort it. Could be cookies too.

edit: and I'm not taking the bait on that luxurious speed. :axe:

    no.

What you uploaded was probably mega-megabytes - once uploaded it got passed over to kracken.io where it was file size optimised without being dimension resized and passed back to our server where it got copied and moved for backup on AWS S3 - then when the browser requested it for the first time - it got resized and compressed on the fly by imgix and become just 192kb.

This is the delay. The delay is worth it for the backup and the mobile optimisation. I tried running it the other way where the processes ran afterwards in parallel but it was too hard with too many errors and linear was best.

It's a bit intermittent. My upload a few minutes ago failed over wifi/NBN. Turned wifi off and failed over 4G. Tried again over 4G and the upload took all of half a second.

VSG's error is what I saw on my phone, tried over 4G due to faster upload speed.

Could not upload pics from Perisher car park earlier or later today. 4 bars of 4G.

Got a pic uploaded from Guthrie Trig today. 1 dot of 3G.

    I blame Perisher.
