sorry if it’s a yart.
I wonder what the base of his skis looked like after that?
Tom Walnuts wipes his arse with Line skis
The smoothness of Wallisch is just absurd.
Thought I recognised the streets of Nelson.
2 things I got out of that
The kid in the car's expression compared to the Dads dead pan, and Joizus, I hope they were hire skis
Landing on minimal snow and skiing on concrete is a common practice in urban skiing.
It’s OK he’s got Teflon bases...
Some folks pay good money for a stone grind.
Impressive. Most impressive.
Beautiful homage to JP. Here's what Wallisch is referencing:
Just wow! I know this is irrelevant to everyone else but I love that you can tell both of them were mogul skiers.
Nobody has mentioned the wood 'veneer' Jeep.
Is it a homeage to JP or cashing in on his great & creative piece from All I Can?
The cynic in me keeps popping up. Great piece though in it's own right and shot in one of my favourite ski towns.
Bit of both in reality in suspect.
Same production company as All.I.Can. So I think they can reference the original as much as they want.
Homage to JP? For sure. Heard an interview with the director on CBC radio a fortnight or so back, he definitely intended this to be a tribute.
Oh and interestingly the Imagination sequence was originally intended to be shot in St John's NFLD, but at commit time there was no snow. So they hustled hard for alternate venues and Nelson stepped up big time, they had a shooting permit in just a week. And a veritable army of volunteers who shoveled snow where needed to create the run ins for the shots.
My mogul skier commented that it must be great to get the support from the whole town, that they would have needed, to shoot both of these.
Yep they obviously had to get the school district on board to do that shot of all the skiers hitting stuff off the school. And lots of street closures so town council and possibly highways involved. Nelson is definitely the sort of town that goes with stuff like this. Some of the shots in the original All.I.Can sequence were shot in Nelson, although it's mostly Trail and little bit in Rossland.
Great Australian song choice.
