Question: If I am staying near the village bowl, where can I get internet access, eg internet cafe?

This would be good for me, because I can a) post snow reports, and b) check Moosh and the weather reports.

Fryers had a public internet terminal last year - I assume it is still there. Fryers is near the bottom of the summit chair lift.

The Frying Pan has a computer terminal just inside the entrance. Snowski apartments has internet access. I assume if the house guests are not using it, anyone can. I think it was $15 per hour.

That just doesn't make sense - how I am supposed to know what the weather and snow conditions are like without access to the internet?

Aha! The old "Stick your head out the window and see what the weather is really like" trick.

kiewaview.com self-catering accommodation at Mount Beauty has just installed free Broadband Internet including Wi-Fi Hot Spot for people needing their own internet connection when in the snow.

Actually, I think it is fair to want to see the web cams etc, particularly if weather is dodgy and you are trying to decide whether to pay for a day ticket. Conditions up top can be quite different to low in the village. Looking for grooming reports can be useful too - shall I start over the back or go straight to summit?
