    Sorry step back further - who is John Lhotsky? I thought I was pretty well read on the history of Thredbo and Kosciuszko but I've never heard of him...

    He found kosi before strezslacki and was ripped off on dubious technicalities by a scammer.

    Huh well today I learned. This was the best article on it I found.

    I read about Kosiuszko the man's life recently as well. An amazing figure. I'm actually quite proud to have the peak named after him, rather than another public servant or politician's relative.
