Have to say this is a cool looking bit of new track. Lucky you, being out there in relatively isolated bliss. Thanks for the grounding nature of your updates and photos in this weirdest of times.

Lack of contrails from the Syd Mlb route noticeable, only saw one today. Work continues

First section of gravel track completed (hoping for good rain to test durability). Change came thru after 4pm yesterday. Had approx 80 heli drops/pickups. No contrails over mountains.

Not commenting as an avid hiker in the area but as a seasonal regular during winter, I can't wait to do these new tracks out of winter. The Perisher to Bullocks Flat section may well be walkable in winter?

Should be, top may be under snow though. Be nasty falling off a snow covered walkway.
Cool start today. The river has calmed.
Walking this section in spring would awesome, the falls on the creek below Headley Tarn were raging, misting yest, still pumping today. Track now cut half way to Illawong.

Work is cracking on. Snowgum colours The track is now cut to the NW ridgeline from Guthries, pretty much the aim for finishing before winter.

Couple of cold windy days with frosty starts. Motley fluro crew. Soil and sod are either reused or flown out, scrub cut up and scattered. Brush cutting crew reached Spencers today. A few more small rock sections and we are finished, still 600m metal to go.

The more I think about the last para in this the more logical it becomes.

It also let’s Saw Pit Creek CP and Ski Rider and Sponars be possible accomodation points.

60 - 100mm on Wed will be good test of durability of gravel and rock track. Walk out, cushion plant, lots of deliveries.

Cheers and no problemo, can't help but smile as to the worksite location, especially in these times. The variations in micro climes along this track are awesome, cold and windy - walk another 100m.
Not looking forward to digging snow from trenches waiting for gravel next week.

Went in today to pack up the sheds, dig out buried equipment and get ready for heli removal. Thanks Adam for decking out the crew in snowshoes, a few had not seen this much snow or snowshoed before - kids in a candy shop. Track is buried until spring, shame, a week of fine weather would have seen completion of our stage. Random photos from today. Cheers all for comments.

Last day on the track today. Smashed out the work since last Sun. All supplies onsite used, machine, huts pulled apart ready for heli tomorrow Crew totalled 62 days on snowshoes. Been great for winter fitness. Top crew to work with. Back in spring for completion. Now, bring on winter. Untracked lines to youse all.

How far down the river are you @Gimp from CP? Guessing that was your white jack at the turning circle. I started to walk your snow shoe track on Thursday night to get a look where you may be up to. I probably went 300m and then realised i wasn't going to see much and turned around.

Yeah I was in a different vehicle. I didn't get up there until just before sunset.

Track is a fair way down then. Must be close to illawong.

Each time I've done the main range walk, I've been stunned and amazed by who and how the trails have been constructed. Just so appreciative of the effort and big thanks for posting an insight and the photos...totally inspiring:thumbs: if a little envious;) Cheers
