As I recall, they were group lessons in English.... I'll see if I can find the info for you.
Naeba is def very kid friendly. Yuzawa not so much.
Fair bit of car dodging walking down the main road at yuzawa would be pretty stressful with kids.
However, I do recall standard group lessons, because we had two people (teenagers) in group lessons.
@Sandy in regards to accommodation in Naeba would you be looking at the main Prince hotel ? And if that's the case have you found any good package deals for the Prince hotel ? The pricing I've seen for the place seems a little on the expensive side when compared to other options.
The deal with JR/ViewPlaza was always good. This was Shinkansen round trip, one night, one breakfast, one dinner, 2 lift tickets + transfers was around 22,000yen per adult.
They used to have a cheap add on, which gave you Shinkansen round trip, 7 nights, 6 days lifts, one breakfast, one dinner, + transfers for around 70,000yen. I haven't seen that since, but I'll see what I can find out.
The early bird deals are really good, we booked with ixsm and got 7 nights accom with 6 day lift ticket and breakfast for 80,000 yen per person. Got a big room in wing (3) 36 sqm.
The shot is a few days old but still looks nice. Somewhere in Niigata.
Cant see it B2s.
Strange, I could see it. Anyway I've changed the link so I hope you can see it now.
plans coming together for a white xmas in japan
22nd Dec to 22nd jan
fly in and out of Nagoya .
train to matsumoto
car to haks
Jeepers, can book early.
nah just planning... but flights are the biggest thing.
need to jump on any specials ..cause christmas is $$$$ to fly
All time record. What happened to the throw something together a month out Donza? :o
Nice long one Donza, probably three weeks for me next time in the Yuzawa/Minakami area. Debating a Nozawa return or not.
a child , a wife ...and flights ...never done a xmas mission before
I get the three of us on a standard air asia fare to japan for like 2800
but I want cheaper
The regular or sale prices on Jetstar tend to end around 20th December when flying into Japan, because of the school holidays. This was one reason why I booked my daughter coming into Japan last December 19th. You'll need to wait a bit, if flying Jetstar, before there are reasonable fares for that period.
How is the forecast looking for then ??
The wait in KL is the biggest issue with AirAsia (along with the LCCT). The new KLIA2(replacing the LCCT) should be open by then, but you'll still be stuck there for 5-7 hours with a little kid.
Anyone know if there is surf in Okinawa Prefecture?
No shirt bro... I looked at US flights for NYE/early Jan and nearly took a bullet... ****in bad bruz! Hoping for sale but for that time of year.... yeah right. Maybe I'll convince Mrs Chopps that Japan is a better idea.
when there are typhoons
gets great waves
funny sort of reefs eroded by fresh water type stuff
Yeah I know
thats the kicker
(i'm also keeping an eye out on any melb-nrt specials)
Ive booked Melb to LA on 16th Jan @$1299 each. To fly 15th Jan or earlier they are $2487 each.
Yep that's pretty much what we discovered. ****ed.
serves you right for considering yank land
Popular time to fly.
Yep, stick with what you know.
Ok, more summer/autumn swells rather than winter. Still, warrants further investigation. Thanks.
Invited to NYC for NYE, got friends in Nashville and possible Miami that we'll wanna see, skiing will be a mandatory bonus if we go. Jackson is the word apparently.
I think there are waves in winter , would have been this year for sure
but like any island around that latitude it works better in autumn and spiring... (trades )
It had a bit of scene with all the yanks stationed there back in the day.
Considering two of the best surf destinations in the world are not too far away (guam, carolinas)
Its ok bro
as long as its not tahoe hot tubbing selfie man trip I approve
( i wanna hit the PNW so bad, along with Idaho and Montana)
Nothin wrong with selfies bro... plenty of those from the #gaijinontour tour.
said no one ever
thats in Dakota no?
Must be South Lake Tahoe.
Same boat here. Not sure about white xmas, or mid jan to mid feb, or end jan to end feb.
ok ive sorted my dilemma, relative to xmas
air Asia SYD to KL . cheap. a few flights
KL to Haneda . Cheap a few flights
KL airport hotel. Cheap.
Reality is with child you either fly direct or break the journey and add sleep.
for 100usd or so for a airport hotel i'll happily stay at KL airport and fly 12 hours later .
No rush when youre going for a month. Sleep a priority
It's so easy to go through immigration at KL, that I got out and took the shuttle to KLIA just so I woudln't have to spend 5 hours in the LCCT transit/departure lounge!!!!!
yeah i was thinking hotel by the hour...tbh though i can manipulate the flights so i arrive at Haneda at a decent time. Its just a separate booking
regardless the new KLIA2 looks primo,
In the past we stayed at the GC on way up and home. To break up flight
Our kids normally sleep really well on flights so they come out the other end full of beans ready to go. But for me it's a different story, I don't sleep much on flights, so when I get to the other end I'm looking for that bed.
see for us, from syds its expensive or requires a 4am wakeup via GC
Having one last ski today to use the last 2 pre-purchased lift tickets. I am expecting extreme spring conditions. There is still lots of snow but it will be soft as it has been pretty warm over the last few days.
So it was ok. Soft but not to bad. I have skied much worse in Aus. Really only one run open but we sneaked a run where the locals were doing race training.
