    So who is going ?

I've bit the bullet and bought flights for January 2016. Managed to get peak season flights departing 2nd of Jan for $1000 return with JAL. Full service airline with baggage, meals, entertainment and even earn 48000 Qantas ff points with my family of four. Compared with Jetstar for around those dates I would have paid another $2000-$3000 for my family without the extras. Extremely unlikely to get Jetstar sale fares for early Jan so I think I've got a good deal with the JAL flights.

Now which resorts to visit ? So many choices. :D

That price is GOOD! Have you picked which resort(s) you're heading to?

Gosh so early yet. I have only just returned to Aus. Still had over 3 metres of snow when I left.

They are great fares - well done!

Well I will be there at least December through to April. Hoping to get people to come for Easter school holidays next season.

If I had booked my same JAL flights last Easter weekend they were down to $850 each !! Could have saved the family another $600, unfortunately I had a few issues to sort before I could book the flights so had to wait a few days. Oh well that's life.

Naeba will be on the list of places to revisit and then I'd like to try some new resorts on Honshu.

I've got flights booked already too. Flying from Adelaide means no direct flights so have decided to go with Cathay Pacific for just over $1000.

Will be visiting Myoko for the first time and meeting up with some forum members while there.

White world oze has been on my radar for a while now. Definitely keen to try out resorts around yuzawa after seeing your photos and reviews from earlier in the year.

Yep! Got a great deal return Syd->Narita with JAL for $965. First time in Myoko (been to Hakuba 2x), and cannot wait to enjoy the week with the girls. Love the culture and food, and looking forward to exploring some other areas, thanks to Skichanger :) Late February for us.

Hey, I've been to Hakuba twice as well Sara :D

Wish I could go for longer but after skiing Europe two years in a row and buying a house it's time for a cheaper trip. Besides, it's quality over quantity right?

My long term weather forecast says west coast Canada/Usa will get huge dumps this coming season, and Japan will suffer a dry winter. Book Nth America instead.

Ha ha! Same boat here. Financial and study commitments, house hunt and family overseas: I'd need double income! But I am greatful I can afford season pass for the Oz season here and still go to Japan, albeit for one week

Three weeks December-Jan, Hokkaido. Solo girl's processional probably taking in Kirroro, Kokusai, Asari, Mt Racey, Tomamu, Sohoro, some BC at Tokachi, then a last hurrah at Kamui before flying out of Asahikawa. All flights sorted, some accommodation booked, still working out when and where to hire a car for the middle chunk. Luckily I LOVE planning :)

So much to explore on Honshu but after 13 years of skiing with his old man, my 16yo has asked if we can go back to Rusutsu and Niseko so that he can ski with some of his school mates.
    First world decisions.

I booked 5th Sept, by memory the sales where on a week or 2 after that. Travel dates were again by memory mid Jan to March. After the school Hols I guess. Try and avoid Chinese new year hols if your doing any tourist stuff. You will still get accom, booking after sept oct. I was 2 keen to book last year, We where the only ones in our accom. it was our second trip, learning now.

We're coming back via Sydney, it's a better option than Jetstar via Cairns into Brisbane. The only airline that flies non-stop into Brisbane will be Qantas when they start the new route in August.

Hi all, we've booked flights again, Dec 31 to Jan 25th. Would love to come back to Myoko again but also keen to explore some of the other resorts (been to Hakuba previously) - maybe Yuzawa or Shiga...decisions, decisions (granted, first world problem!).

We are out of GC. cooly, the wife just doesnt want to do another night flight in a J* torture seat. Looking for other options,?
Will Qtas be a better night flight? Who knows. Friends have done the JAL into Syd, said it was like another class.

Same problem here.. the toss up is to returning to an area you already, know def, has its advantages. Poss Myoko again or like you Yuzawa. B2S, has me thinking based on his report. We go on snow holidays and do skiing while there, not skiing holidays if that makes any sense, so we like the option of things to do while at resort area.

You can hire rental cars out of Yuzawa if you head up there. Our wagon for the family of four was 7500 yen a day, although it got cheaper the longer your rental period and of course smaller cars cost less.
