Am looking at a Jan 2020 itinerary that involves a 1 way domestic flight. While I could book it as part of our overall itinerary on Cathay Pacific, I'd rather book it separately so that if we have to change it/move it, I am only dealing with 1 leg of a multi-leg trip (I've done this before, and it is just better if the leg is separate). However, it seems that the Japanese airlines only show flights 3 months out even though I can pick the flight I want on the Cathay portal when I look at the entire itinerary (hopefully this makes sense).

Do the domestic airlines not sell their tickets that far in advance unless booked as part of a longer itinerary? Thank you

No tickets until 3 months out is the standard.

Should not be an issue if you log on on time to buy. It will help if can get a Japanese speaker / reader to help. The English website may not exist or it will be a truncated version of the Japanese website.

Internal airlines like Vanilla can offer good prices.

You can book one through an Aussie travel agent, but the price will likely be exxy. Easier to book online 2-3 months out.

    Where is it from? To?
Have you considered going by Shink? Bit longer but you get to see more of the country.

End of thread. Use the JAL and ANA fixed price sector fares for tourists. Full service carrier with multiple flight options.

This question comes up again and again and not many people seem to know about these.

Just go to expedia.com and book flights whenever you like.
e.g. Osaka (Itami) to Tokyo (Haneda) one way $84 USD, 10th Feb 2020. (ANA)
