If someone asks a question in a Facebook group, it's almost always like this, or with even less detail, and often with zero research.

Hence when it happens here, because it's uncharacteristic of these forums, we automatically assume troll.

That's great and all but it is 100% misleading to create an expectation that it will snow all the time.

I got completely skunked when I went to Japan.

I've never said it snows all the time. Search and you'll see that I say it snows quite a lot of the time in Hokkaido from Jan-Feb. And in central Japan, if you're there for two weeks in Jan, you can expect powder 3-4 times, with sun in between.
Which year were you in Japan, where and when & for how long?

So all the non-paying members don't want to waste a message on giving advice, and all the paying members don't want to pay to give advice to others.

    Seems to be working :)

The OP will probably forget he's posted here...

This is what happens when a total and utter flog repeatedly posts under new user names over the course of a decade about skiing in Colorado. People rightfully become very suspicious. This OP may be genuine, but sadly the other idiot makes us suspicious. That is why I get so peeved when he keeps coming back and posting his tripe.

And a post like that is exactly why they'd keep coming back.

This forum is pretty hilarious though, if you read all the advice at once for some places, you probably wouldn't even end up leaving the house for a holiday. Not surprised people have come out from under the bridge occasionally to poke fun.

I see, I'm not really aware of the history with that particular individual. Seems like there are a few trolls around at the moment though.

There is this thing about Japan being a country and Vail being somewhat less expansive.

I have a lodge in both Akakura (Taguchi actually, but also known as Shin-Akakura or Higashi Akakura) and Madarao. Both are actually in Myoko-shi.

"Trolling" on the Internet has nothing to do with mythical creatures that live under bridges. It's a technique used in fishing.

See, you just got a bite. LOL

    Maybe not.

I wish, Im it sadly although its great exercise. Have shovelled more snow in the last 12 days than the last 2 years at our place. Scoop it up and dump it in the drain on the street and repeat. I wont be doing much riding over NY due to the crowds and associated risk so will have a bit of time to throw at it. Normally takes me about 4 to 5 hours to do our place, then the mother in laws, then our elderly neighbour, then an elderly widow nearby. Pretty much a full day. I sleep well after that.

Nah, just generally slow in everthing. :)
