Queues @ Perisher worse they have been in two weeks. Great snow but with Ridge & Mt P double 'on hold' every lift is totally constipated. Mountain has transformed since last Friday - more will still be good.

How many floors up? 8c in Sydney CBC so too warm for sleet, unless you're on the top floor (approx. 200m). Even then it seem unlikely.

Concur that the queues in Perisher have worsened since my last post. Having the Mount P double and the Ridge on hold can't be helping.

T Bar queues in Centre Valley were fine all morning with some nice fresh snow through the trees.

Still sunny up here but cold. Breeze seems to be picking up and a few clouds starting to roll in.

Still cold in PV. Snow condition still great.

There's been a band of cloud sitting along the edge of the range to the East pretty much all day but it has been fine in the valley.

High level cloud has now come over from the South West?

Just been for a drive. Car reported temp 9 to 9.5°near Maitland, NSW. Cold for the area and time of day. When I was a kid there weren't many days under 55°F - approx 12.5°C.

Been some light to moderate rain here earlier, dry ATM. Last night's local forecast warned of gale-force winds and heavy enough rain to cause flash flooding. Maybe the overnight ECL hasn't been as strong as forecast or further south?

Wind is starting to pick up now though, fresh with some stronger gusts. And a band of blue-black cloud is building to the W and SW.

okay, i observe (before this system is completely dead and buried) that #Snownami was a success amongst all major results. I observe we predicted 50-70cm and thats more or less what we got. I observe people get confused when it doesn't snow 50cm in one day.

This was, and always was predicted early on, as a season starter, and thats exactly what we got.

All IMOO (In My Opinionated Observation)

    :)

Wifey is walking to work at Blackheath, just reported the ice on the road at Soldiers Pinch before Mt Boyce is horrendous.
Walking in the snow beside the road is OK apparently.

Not the red. That's to be leisurely savoured rather than inhaled obliviously in a drunken stupour! But it was a combination of tiny iphone, next to useless connection and auto correct.

Carpark continually corrected to carpal. I corrected it several times, then gave up. "Protected", same thing. I tried uploading a photo but the connection wasn't able to handle it.

Back on topic. Two great days at Mt Buller on Thursday and Friday. Howling gale that could generally be avoided except at the top of lifts. Light snow both afternoons which was very picturesque. Roads clear, chains weren't required either day. Snow sticking in the trees. A few photos in the Buller Reports thread.
