^ with some build up... I'm very happy with that result considering the temp and where this moisture came from.

Some wet snow falling in Smiggins now, a bit of wind but not ridiculously so. Too dark still to see how windy it is on the actual hill but the lodge roof and windows aren't rattling at all (yet) which is a positive sign, although I think the wind is supposed to be building during today (isn't it?).

Our driveway and parked cars have 1-2cm of snow settled on them since I went to be at 10pm. Seems to be just barely snowing now, that is definitely falling as flakes but turning to water immediately on hitting the lounge room windows.

It looks as though Perisher above 1800 has dodged a bullet & ended up with a net gain.

I think I would have to scrape a fair bit together to get to 7cm outside the lodge at 1680m. Photo from just now (also posted in the Perisher forum)

Note: I am skiing anyway - with wife, father-in-law and two of my kids, so good times will be had regardless. The froth is strong with me ;)

Mixture of snow and rain overnight at Hotham. Raining now with a lot of wind. Might be a good day to play cards!

The lodges at Davenport must be around the freeze level. In the last half hour there has been snow, sleet and rain. The wind is the only constant.

That first one is not a pretty scribble.. Asking a lot of orographic effect with that. How many hours between Gambier and Mlb you reckon?

    6 hours?
Just remember Gambier was at 17Z time, while Melbourne was at 11Z; we should have a new Melbourne AP sounding by lunchtime.

This thread has gone a bit off track....

Can anyone report real time obs on the ground at the moment?

Is it still howling and foul in Victoria / SA?

Mild, overcast morning here in Sydney. Felt colder about an hour ago than it did at dawn though......

I'm seeing current temp of 13.4, feels like 11.4 in Frenchs Forest

Supposed to be going for a balmy high of 20 today and tomorrow.....

11.3 Degrees Mt Beauty, a little sun poking through occasionally. We had 31mm in last 24hrs and has been quite windy overnight and early this morning. Wind has currently eased. Rain has cleared for now also.

Still super windy at Buller but the rain cleared out this morning and the high cloud is patchy - even some sunny breaks. Just noticed temp have dipped in to the negs now.

Are we thinking we've cleared the worst of this pre-frontal band now?

    No more rain in store?

well that's a fantastic result IMO. Roughly only 25mm across the major vic resorts. could've been a shite sight worse than that!

We have been lucky with the pre-frontal, some of it falling as snot instead of r@@n. Beautiful sunny morning in Latrobe Valley, but wind is strengthening with some big gusts.
