    Well done to that man!
And in context, 25mm is bugger all against some of the numbers that were being thrown up at one stage. 120mm and such.

And with 7cm of snow at falls/hotham and I presume similar at perished/thredbo I think was a great result....

Back in Canberra after 9 days in Thredbo. I observe that it's dark and wet, with regular showers coming through. Can see Mount Ainslie through the trees, so will be in a position to report any snow settling there tomorrow.

A bit gusty.... Half the roof of my pergola disappeared at some point in the night. Previous location near Victor Harbor , SA... Current location unknown...
104km/hr gusts in the lower Mount Lofty Ranges - going to be mighty windy up high.

We had 20 cm wet accumulation overnight mid week only to be washed away with a little more in the rain that fell from midday. Last nights accumulation up high is likely to suffer a similar fate with valley temps at 2+ & rain so far today. We need the cold & a good 30 cm to rebuild what has been lost

Blowing it's guts out still down here at Moana in souther burbs of Adelaide. Fences down and the odd tree. Sunny patches but lots of low scudding cloud. Got to be close to the biggest stormy swell I've seen in the gulf from a northerly wind. Should be impressive when the eventual south-west swing comes in.

In sadder news the Cape du Couedic wave bouy has stopped transmitting after the swell rapidly increased from 2m to 9m significant wave height overnight.

Windy but not especially cold at Berridale (NSW). A few light showers this morning but clear blue skies now.

Very windy here in the dandenongs. Gum tree has come down in our front street, has taken out power and phone lines to us and the neighbours. Good old SES were here quick, they have been very busy today.
Hope the winds not going to get any worse!

I gotta say from the obs people are posting the resorts look great IMO. A few patches and maybe 80-90% cover for the beginning of July is genuine Skiing in Aus (even if it is raining!). A good top up on the way will make for excellent conditions going forward for at least the next few weeks, particularly with the prospect of some great snow making opportunities over the next week.

The cams make it look OK but a lot of areas in Perisher are late spring like with dirt and rock coming through. Most off piste is un-skiable crust or snot. In saying that a big freeze and 30cm will bring it back as there is a good base away from the groomed/skied trails. This storm is needed and I am looking forward to Thursday/Friday and will battle through the next two days.

Hmmmm depends whether you like your glass half full or half empty, I would observe that all of the snowmaking areas in Perisher are very skiable.

My glass never makes it as low as half of anything - near full all the time :woohoo:. From what I see on cams and photos posted + whats gunna happen in the next few days , it looks pretty decent to me. I dont need 2 metres to enjoy myself besides rockhoppers were created for a reason ;) . 3 more sleeps and I am amongst it at last and I observe I am going to darn well enjoy it to.

I agree. Looks good to me and add 20cm this week and all will be forgotten (until the next rain). Always hard to stay positive when one is drenched to ones undergarments :)

Seems to have cooled off at Hotham. A bit of a snow flurry and the slush had turned a bit crunchy under foot when leaving the pub.

That's what I thought when I first looked at it, but I think it will get squashed by the high.

Sorry for prediction. I observe that it is still pretty warm in Canberra.

Also windy and 6 degrees at Anglers Reach 20 km east of Selwyn. 1 octa of cumulus and stars shining like diamonds on a wind chilled but not frosty night. This air - mass is dry dry dry and the 95 % plus humidity readings at the Alpine resorts are a little suspect.... W
