Like every snow day this season.

I don't believe they are upping it to compete with other resorts, I think it is more to do with the afore mentioned guage issues, however do think they need to get their skit together. Particularly before sending their daily email out.

The rectify the issue in the app not long after someone has rushed the 'offical' report.

In actual fact the report first came out and said 20cm about 6:15, then around 6:20 changed to 10cm, then some time later changed back to 20cm. I suggest incompetance rather than conspiracy.

    Not real cold at all.
More like cool-ies 'as opposed to coldies.
Don't think tassie will be too relevant.
    Event Mostly over by evening.

If you think that's anything more than bullshit marketing then Perisher probably have a job for you somewhere. I wish VIC would get snow in 5cm increments too. It's amazing.

You should go to the states, they never get it in less than 2.54cm increments ;)

And just for accuracy perisher did report in increments of 1cm earlier this week.

Reports on conditions welcome, especially with on the ground photos.

Please take the bitching about resort reporting elsewhere. Thanks.

I disagree, with so few people actually staying in the resort the resorts own reporting is all we have right now. And very important observing tool, it why Ski reports exist.

It's 2017, if you're looking for a number on a snow report then you're still stuck in the 80s or 90s. I dont even read snow reports these days, with posts in this thread, the individual resort threads, snow cams and other tools, you dont need to. Plus they are all about marketing fluff anyway, always have been. This morning i've probably looked through a dozen snow cams and now 1 single snow report, I wouldnt even know what depth they are reporting. But from the cams and thread reports you get a much better idea of what conditions are like than the resorts would ever put out.

    V. Fine flakes in the air at Buller, I reckon the Tassie rain shadow is in effect and we won't see a lot more. Happy to be wrong.

You have your way for first thing obs and I have mine!.

At 6am when an alarm goes off the cams that are on all night are black, so I check the app.

I don't read the snow report, just check the totals. More often than that delete it!

I dunno, Aussie snow can be heavy to clear off the car, might pop a shoulder. I'd much rather brush it off when it's super-dry.

That'd be about right I reckon, based on what Hoth/Falls have reported plus radar from last night.
Certainly more credible than the Powerade bottle crap they've got all over Facebook. Utter garbage.

20cm on the ridge feels about right. Much more in spots.

First down brumby, roller coaster and ridge. 2 ridge laps untouched so far. Awesome morning.

I observe that It is time for codeine and a lie down for Lake Mt Folk!

Moderate showers on westerly drive to Rockbank this morn.perhaps this pattern could be the new emblem for the Mt.

Thredbo (on the same page) are saying 25cm and 30cm (but not distinguishing between top and bottom). Generally I find they under report compared with Perisher... maybe they are both right. I've no idea, but it looks like The Bluff has filled in with the snow / windblown.

Sorry I lie... I just noticed Thredbo saying the village got 10-15 cm. Which means 25 to 30 cm up top (according to Thredbo).

A giant land rover discovery buried up to its ears in snow... took me about an hour to get it cleared, frozen onto the all of the surfaces... I think my hands almost froze off. Don't get me wrong it was awesome but also supremely annoying at the same time.

Still showers streaming through Melbourne as I type this and sitting at 10c. Just lovely!

Always prepared mate. 6 days on the hill & I was too busy enjoying the snow with mates to care about clearing my car daily.

This was day 1- in the days following it was up to the door sills. Always carry the necessary equipment in the boot when I'm going up the hill.

Is that still snow falling at shredbo or just windblown moving around? Surface looks good
