It would help if they gave us the location and info for those mini stations.

Hey Rossi, unfortunately I think they are just large raindrops. They appear a bit white because the slow shutter speed use in low light causes blurring of the droplets. But I'd be happy to be wrong of course.

Yeah, I am assuming they have them, but I can't imagine any vaguely modern snowmaking system not having a network of stations.

Perisher Blue do provide weather data from all around the resort which is nice (when they work [IMG] ) :

    0.2c at 10pm at 1970m there...

One is definately at Road Runner.
Probably another up at the Summit,
and another towards Swindlers Valley (near Sundowner maybe).

I've been watching this cam for a coupla seasons now before I go up there. This is either torrential drops of rain, sleet or wet snow.

You don't see rain so good and it generally spatters the lense with water.

I think it one of the last two.

Looks like white, wet, snow to me. R*in doesn't show up so white on the cam, and is usually not so easy to see. Still a little way from settling though it seems...

I think that is slow shutter speed rather than snow

Deffinately snowing on Hotham. Intermitantly heavy, from what I've been told.

When I was a kid in the north of England, we'd have a minus 6 day and Granny (rest her soul) would say 'its too cold to snow'.

Sure as ****, when it hit about 3 it would snow.

i dont think its snowing at falls. cam shows a lot of grainy stuff towards the top right light, that would be rain.

Thinking about canning my Aug 5th family ski trip to PB and heading across the Tasman. I'll be losing my deposits but this is looking really ****. Are there any potential fronts between now and then that I should consider before making a drastic decision?

Its definately a mix of precipitation, but you generally get that graininess from this cam especially when its humid or foggy.

Hmm East Sale radar is back online.

How more more precip is left would Sandy/Djon or Verm say [IMG] ?

I dont think much more but the BOM would know better than me

"Rain areas with heavy falls should continue in Gippsland for most of Monday.
Showers and drizzle will continue elsewhere, especially over southern and

POW: Yeh buller hasn't changed much [IMG] Looking at the cam.

Bourke Street cam while it was lit at 9pm was looking very very wet/watery. I expect most of the sides of Bourke St to be showing dirt by morning !

As a nice finishing point before Sandy closes this 10 page thread, as I and a few others have been saying for a while, the rest of July looks like no snow falling, except for maybe 5cms or so in about a week !

    Discuss! [IMG] :p

Poor Mt Baw Baw, temp now up to 4.4 and 6.0mm of rain so far! What little snow they had left will be gone by morning me thinks!
