I observe a nice, big, swirling low in the Great Australian Bight
looks good. BOM seem to have updated forecast.
look at that lovely speckled goodness SW of WA.
Reel her in for the love of god
Cuddles, this is the Obs thread, not the forecast thread
You're on the wrong page of BOM.
Moisture hitting Adelaide
I observe, with a yawn, that it is currently 2/8ths cloud in Adelaide, no wind, t-shirt....... hopefully something exciting happens before morning.
Maybe I spoke too soon
Maybe a couple of hours to Adl
Sudden rise in temperature at Perisher.
Went from -2.8C to 2.9C in the space of 8 mins
I hope so..... It doesn't feel like it at all yet and i'd predicted it here by about dinner.....
Not even any precipitation of note across Eyre peninsula yet......
Yeah, saw that, looks like the wind blowing in. Humidity taken action dive, down to 26%
Definitely an inversion.
Must be inversion, -6 at Cooma but above zero at top of Thredbo....
Hold on to your hats children, winter is coming.
Bluff Knoll, Stirlings, WA, this morning:
-2deg in bega this morning when i called in to work. Came in tonight at 6pm it was +5deg now sitting on +1. I think we might get below -2 in the morning.
Yes I indeed made an observation !!
Reports on Facebook that it's snowing at charlottes
Snowing a second ago at Bluecow
Windy in Jindy
A very frosty 1.8 degrees here in NW tassie but it is much warmer further west, might be the first front approaching
Mid Perisher centre have posted a video of what looks very much like white fluffy stuff falling this morning.
Back to work now.
Anyone got any stats on what happens when it snows on Bluff Knoll? Doesn't happen that often.
I observe it was cold (-4C) on the ride into work today with lovely grey skies overhead (Canberra ACT).
BOM has reported Perisher as 0.2 in the gauge at 9am, nothing at 8:30am
I also observe movement in the Perisher gauge.
More moisture inbound from WNW
Another wasted member
Snowing at Perisher
Raining now in Jindy
Perhaps 2 or 3 times a year.
Heavy rain in mildura and 10deg at the moment, tis nice to see something dropping from the sky. I find from past observations systems coming across when it rains and its below 14 deg its generally snow when it hits the alps
Very foggy at Smiggins at the moment. Dont know why but it just doesn't feel like anything is going to happen.
I like this post. Stand by...
I observe that there was some freezing rain in Perisher for about 5 minutes, now fog and intermittent drizzle.
Not burning a lift ticket today chilling at brunellis while kids are in their prepaid jobbies.
Cold in Sydney this morning.
It appears to be raining on the Cruiser live cam.
I observe the lodge garbos are downgrading the quantity to 5 cm over the next 2 days.
More shrivelled than wasted perhaps.
Looks a bit damp and not very white on the Cedarwood cam at Falls...
Damp and white out conditions on the Buller cams
temps marginal (or worse) everywhere.
Whiteout at Buller - Braille skiing. Damp mizzle/light rain.
The low is spinning clockwise in the Bite, well below Adelaide. It's pulling in that moisture from the north. So things will stay damp for a while yet. But it's all as expected so far.
Weird observations on the drive to work....very heavy frost and ice on puddles in the normal low lying spots, but the temp had already risen to about 7deg.
You up there? Coming up tonight.
One thing worth pointing out is the really warm water off Sydney. Like 20 degrees.
This is how it looks with 4 degree morning chill.
Was pretty mild when I walked out the door to go to work this morning.
Im generally pretty mild.
I picked you more as a special filter kinda guy.
