All that beautiful black cloud I reported earlier appears to have headed north east , damnit. Oh well you win some and you lose some. Looks like light snow falling at FV ( or is it just the guns ? , I cant tell ) , if so then more uphill I guess.
Beans....dude!! Totally sweet obs mate, truly fine effort. I'm surprised @janesweather wasn't photo bombing in the back ground such was the Buller'ness of your efforts brah. I'll take the pepsi challenge any day with Bullville, throw 140 cent base on that hill then sprinkle 35 cents of blower, hands down best in-bounds steeps/chutes & trees in OZ IMO Having said that, I observe that I love every major OZ hill for all they giveth....
Yep. 9:23pm at Merrits. So probs not at village. But South P cam same time showing light snow. Any snow at this point is welcome.
Thanks. Hopefully I can better photos tomorrow. No I didn't see Jane on the hill. When Buller is on, it's probably the best skiing in the country. That just doesn't happen much anymore though.
Sadly agree mate. My second season was 1991, like 195cm base on July 27th, funnily I thought it would always be that way. In the last 30 years, a victim of a lack of classic COLD NW systems IMO, and /or super moist SW systems. Still, the love never fades, so much awesome terrain, north AND south....
Wow, you would've had to be right on the peak (~1300m IiRC) to see anything looking remotely like snow IMO. Perhaps hail rather than snow? a very random cold pool otherwise as the uppers weren't exactly supportive of Falls that low, that far north IMO
Another cool moist day in south west WA today. Albany airport has been sitting in single figures & registering increasing precip all day. Dusting again for the Stirlings?
A little rain on top of the snow that fell yesterday would be good IMO to solidify the base in readiness for the next snow event this week
The real question is when people will realise that today's observations should go in the thread for July 6.
[offtopic]Does it really matter? Same system/s. And these threads aren't exactly important and archived. Seems a bit anal (not you) that the dates are so important on the observations threads - after all, whoever started the thread determines start and end dates of the thread. [/offtopic]
