Snow in jindabyne at moment
Oscillating between sleet and snow at Thredbo all morning. Mostly snow above 1700. Still some very good lines if you're prepared to explore.
Puking in jindy
Wet snow falling in Berridale.
Snowing between Jindy and Cooma. Rain/sleet in Cooma now and I am heading the wrong way.
Weird as its only just below freezing at the bottom of Perisher which is around 800m higher than Jindy.
9C and lightly raining in Canberra
Its 2 degrees in jindy at mo..
Getting brighter. All over for mo
Been snowing on and off at BawBaw since last night. Great skiing ... Some nice deep patches up top
I observe all 7 lifts open but a reported snow depth of 27cm - for Painted to run they normally need around 50. Nice and deep up top then!
Snowing lightly in Threbo village atm. Not much wind compared to yesterday.
Went out at about 8.30 am at Hotham. Absolute puking down with lovely soft big flakes for about an hour. then it cleared up and you could see the Orchard from the top of the Heavenly lifts for about 45 minutes. Then the visibility dropped at about 10.30am and it started snowing again. At the moment the cloud is about but the sun is shining bright. Im hoping there is a clearing trend for the afternoon.
Fat flakes at Guthega & snowing all morning across Perisher. Runs are sweet but gear is wet. Parachute in great shape but visibility is poor.
Still snowing, al beit damp in the valley, at Thredbo
Was snowing about a k or two from the ticket booth at lake mountain, been beautiful here. Light snow on and off during the day, was really dry in the morning
wash your mouth out!
Wet snow outside Jindabyne, not sticking
Even cold in Brisbane this morning, down to 2.6 degrees !
Nice sunny winters day now.
Just out of Canberra at Michelago, car showing 1 degree and mixed snow /rain falling pretty heavily. Pretty cold in jindy too http://www.jindyweather.com
Obs at Baw Baw suggest they're getting hit very hard today. Showers from the SW and very cold. Perfect for them.
Cold clear and still in Thredbo. Conditions underfoot outstanding in the right places
Temps have dropped considerably during the day.
Perisher village was -0.5 this morning and is now down to -3.4
Yeah like wise In jindy...been 0 to plus three all day...after seven degrees this mmorning
Thredbo today between 12-2 was perfect. We had Sponars to ourselves and it was puking light and dry.
Took the dogs up to the snow today, at around 1200m. About 20cm on the ground and heavy snow showers while we were there. Was really throwing it down at times. On drive out it was snowing heavily down to 700m according to the GPS.
Lake jindy doing its best Vancouver impersonation at moment. Snow choked hills
After lunch it did clear up at Hotham and we had a fantastic partly sunny afternoon with great visibility. About 20 minutes ago it started to snow lightly again but it's stopped now. What an awesome last day weather wise. That's it for my reports - back to Melbourne tomorrow.
Post us a pic big boy
Consistent snow all day at Charlotte Pass. Around lunchtime go cooler and the flakes got drier..... not fresh show dry but Ozhee powder.... about 10cm dust on yesterdays breakable crust.
Bitterly cold in the resorts tonight. At 6:30pm:
Baw Baw: -3.2C
Thredbo Top: -6.1C
Cold as in jindabyne. Car is frozen solid
Well, that ended up being dry and awesome and wonderful. Amazing scenes acrosss Kalkits and Rocky Plains
Drove to Guthega and went skiing
It snowed in Melbourne's Dandenongs today. Mate a Ferny Creek (about 400 metres ASL) observed snow falling at about 2 deg C.
Iceman ... This is one resort that definitely under reports ... at least at the moment! The snowfall today has been awesome ... Some GREAT skiing to be had tomorrow
There is a good compacted 30 cm or so in the bowl area. Up top and midway on some runs there was at least 15-20 extra on top of the compacted. There were stashes were it was deeper than that
Twas definitely awesome ;-)
Has it stopped snowing all together at baw baw or is it still off and on JLou?
When I was walking back from dinner about an hour ago it was still snowing, albeit lightly.
Just looked out the Window ... still at the moment.
Guess that makes it 'off and on'!!! Really cold though.
Looking forward to see what the night brings when I start work again in the morning
I observe BOM indicating -6 and lower temps across the resorts this morning, and the snow cams indicating pristine corduroy on all the major runs with the mist of a perfect night of snowmaking still wafting around
Can confirm super cold here at Hotham, a hoar like frost on trees and balconies
glorious bluebird day at hotham.
no wind and a couple of cm of fresh overnight.
even though temps are -6 it feels fine in the sun.
Cams look great. About to jump in the car and head up there. Prediction is for another bluebird day tomorrow as well!
Surface light and dry underfoot in Thredbo this morning. Lapping Michaels and Bowl. Cutting through the deeper stashes easily, not heavy in any way. Is good.
I observe the perisher AWS showing -7.7
@Wardy. Perisher same. Especially over at Guthega.
another bluebird day at hotham /DP
